‘Our design can be used for good because our project explores the possibility of cultivating plant life on Mars. If we move to another planet in the future, plants will play a crucial role in our lives there. We rely on plants for food and protection; they are a fundamental resource for humanity. Having the knowledge that we could someday live on Mars is amazing. The idea that we can cultivate plants somewhere as dry, barren, and cold as Mars demonstrates that we could sustain life on almost any planet. I believe that anyone could benefit from our project. This may sound far-fetched, but if we were ever in need of a new home, our research shows that Mars could be the solution. However, since this idea wouldn’t directly help people on Earth right now, some may see it as a distant or an unideal goal. In addition, some might view Martian cultivation as unnecessary, believing instead that humanity should focus on preserving Earth rather than expanding outward to a planet we have yet to fully understand.’
