YAYYY, The concert went well yesterday. Oh yeah, for those who aren't in the deci gcs, I had a large group band concert yesterday. You may be wondering "what instrument does Ren play?", and if you aren't I don't care, I'm still saying it. I play.... the clarinet.
ANYWAYS, yeah we did fucking great, and I'm proud of us. I looked nice with my suit & bowtie on, and I even put a little ribbon on the bell(the last & bottom piece) of my clarinet to spice things up for it too. Now, I just need to move to first chair so that I can justify me acting like a douchebag /j. I'm only a freshman though, so maybe I'll do it in the middle of my sophmore year soon.
Wait wait, hear me out, DON'T MAKE A SQUIDWARD JOKE !!!!! I'm tired of everyone being like "oohhh, so you're squidward?". I've heard it sooooo many times it's not funny anymore. Imagine playing an instrument for almost a decade & people are just like "haha, that's the instrument squidward plays, lol". It was initially funny the first like, maybe 3 years at most, and then the past 5 years it has not been at all. No, I did not get into playing the clarinet because of squidward. I honestly just liked the sound of it.
Also, I just don't play the clarinet solely. I also play the tenor sax & when I get good at tenor I'll move on to alto, which is in a different interpolation from the tenor sax & the clarinet. I used to play the violin. I was really good at it, and if you ask me to just play it with no preparation I'd do so easily, not joking. I stopped playing the violin because of maintenance.
Listen, I'm an idiot (not regarding intelligence tho) , so I can't keep up with shit, especially with how many things you have to do in order to take care of a violin. If one single thing goes wrong, you can't do anything. And fixing a violin is super expensive, sooo, yeah. Not saying that clarinets & saxophones aren't hard to take care of at all, don't take them up thinking maintenance would be easy peasy lemon queasy.
