Sorta just reminds me of Jojo Siwa as well. I won’t lie, I used to be quite rude and snarky to Jojo. I think this was probably the result of societies expectations of teenagers to act a certain way, and so Jojo not doing that even resulted in me (and my sister) judging her a lot. Suddenly, she changed her hair, came out as queer, changed her attitude and boom now everyone loves her and respects her and protects her from homophobia
I do agree it’s very incredible that Jojo was not only able to come out, but also do so in front of a child audience. We do have homophobes who sadly took Jojo away from their children to “protect them” or whatever dumb shit. But so many now know what being queer is and know how to embrace it. But I always feel iffy about people only gaining support because they’re queer. I know maybe I’m overreacting but it always feels a little homophobic “I only like you because you’re gay” like that comes off so wrong does it not?? If people only wanted to be my friend coz I’m gay I’d be really offended?? But it’s worse in kpop since most idols aren’t even out yet get labelled and then fans have the audacity to be pissed when their idols don’t act like their designated label. Okay rant over
