People disregard me as a sound engineer because I don't know every single fancy term, like boy, I have a better career so far than you, and you've been doing this for decades. I've been unintentionally doing this ever since I randomly gained sentience at 5, don't play with me. I'm not a novice.
I'm not good with words, so when I say "I'm turning down the resonance to remove the stupid frequency thingies", don't question me. I'm not a clanker, if you want me to say, "I'm turning down the resonance to clean up harsh frequency spikes, which creates a more polished mix, prevents listening fatigue, and allows space for other instruments", you're NOT getting that from me.
The same applies when I used to teach kids music full-time for two years. Just because I'm a little awkward and like to explain music theory in a general sense doesn't mean I don't know what I'm talking about. I mean, I'm getting paid to do these things, you're not.
