I feel like I'm seen as weird for no reason because I'm a young, black, male that likes kpop. Who'm I supposed to like, Lil Baby or somethin? I swear, it be your own people acting funny. The stereotype that only young teenage girls like kpop is crazy. And I guess I get seen as "fruity" or "sus" for liking it, which I am, I'm omnisexual, but it shouldn't matter. If I wanted to go right now & do something that's seen as too feminine for a male then I'll do it just to spite people. It shouldn't be seen as worse than a bunch of music either talking about
killing people, doing drugs, f**king b**ches
, the whole shebang, or just mumbling all over a damn song with no actual words being said. The stuff that people assume about you just based on what you like is crazy. I like anime, that doesn't mean I'm an absolute degenerate NEET who
m*sturbates to lolicons & sh*t
. I find that revolting. They literally look exactly like children, but they're normally subjected to fanservice.
(Not relating to anything or anybody on this forum) Also, the amount of gatekeeping in the kpop community is concerning. If you're a male & you like kpop you're this that blah-blah-blah, like, what'd I do? Like music? It's really not that serious. No, just because you don't stan BTS/Blackpink/Twice, that doesn't make you superior than all the "regulars" who like BTS/Blackpink/Twice. You're not special. It's really giving the eqivualent of "Oh, I don't watch insert any massively popular anime here, I watch inserts (supposedly) less popular anime here, and it's so much better". You're not quirky, you just have a massive superiority complex. I can give wayyyyyyyyyy more examples, but this post is already outrageously long.
TLDR; Why does everyone gotta have such terrible stereotypes on kpop & what a fan of it is supposed to be?
