me: no it's not. it's a microaggression. asians don't eat cats (it's actually illegal in a lot of places), and if they do it's for survival. there's not rlly anything that makes eating a cat different from eating a pig or a cow, anyway.

Pfft hahshsdhjdjdh this brings back memories of when I was in high school

So…last night after I gave my daughter her shower, I was getting her dressed and she said to me “mommy, did my dad pass out?” And I asked her to repeat herself and she did, but I thought she was saying something else, so I asked her to explain and she said “did he go to sleep.” And I realized what she was saying, and I said “yeah, baby, he passed out.” And she goes “ah, no, I didn’t want him to pass out.” And like put her head in her hands & did a dramatic sigh.

it almost made me cry because she’s starting to get to that age where she’s asking about her dad now. She’ll be 5 in July. This June will make 5 years since her dad was murdered & I’ve never mentioned it to her before, when her dad has been brought up, we just say “he’s just not with us any longer” but we haven’t used the words “passed on/out/away” or anything like that.

I know I’ll have to tell her the truth one day, but I’m hoping it will be when she’s a bit older, say 11-13 somewhere around there, where she can understand and grasp the situation better.

It was just a weird experience to me last night, especially since she said it out of the blue.
