Honestly I respect people who do photography for a side hustle its a tough gig that doesn't get enough credit. And as someone who's not the best business minded/etc I'm shutting down my Instagram and Linktree tonight. I get where my dad's coming from but when you turn a hobby to a job its just not the same. I also don't have the funds for equipment needed to, my camera is a second hand gift from 2014 and cannot handle the 4K that people want
Also if you edit videos all props to you to be fair, that is so hard. Did I sell pictures at a pop up market? Yes I did which was a great test for my anxiety and I practically saw four concerts for free (country artists, independent artist) and I truly cherish that chance but I think I'm done. I am so happy with myself that I even tried it though! It felt kinda weird reaching out to people without a large portolfio and stuff like that, and I messed up big time with Max McNown's manager when writing emails, I got the mangers names mixed up but it was great feedback from his manager and I'm still going to see him in concert one day just cause I like him. But def embarrassing.
