Petition submitted to the Blue House asking to revoke BTS Jungkook's Order of Cultural Merit medal

Ever since the COVID-19 story broke out, K-Netz have been very upset with the 4 members. This petition was submitted to the Blue House in hopes to strip Jungkook of his metal.

Translated, this reads "Please revoke BTS Jungkook's Order of Cultural Merit medal". The petition states: "Big Hit Entertainment artist BTS's Jungkook and his three idol friends went to an Itaewon nightlife eatery while many people in the country are trying to overcome the global Coronavirus epidemic. disregards the efforts of the public and officials who have tried to overcome the virus so far, and does not match the purpose of the medal which is awarded to those with outstanding achievements that contributed to national development."

BTS was awarded the Order of Cultural Merit medal in 2018 for the contributions to Korean culture and the spread of K-pop throughout the world.

That's a bit too much. I mean, yeah what they did wasn't okay and it's reasonable to be upset since celebrities as rolemodels must give the right examples but that has nothing to do with his achievements that gave him this award. That's kinda off.

Yeah that seems a bit extreme. It wasn't like he did anything that actually damaged how Korean culture is viewed by other countries. Even the US has had celebrities who don't act in accordance with awards they've been given/always obey social distancing guidelines/pandemic procedures

wow knets standards for idols are really high but kr is a conservative country so im not really surprised

I just hope that this matter will be resolved peacefully without Jungkook's Order of Merit being revoked.
It's too extreme to strip an idol of their hard-earned awards due to a simple slip.
Jungkook has committed a mistake and he owned up for it , instead of denying. That should be seen in a positive light and his honesty should be appreciated.
