it's when you refuse to support a certain artist and/or a comeback of theirs. So if I say "I'm boycotting kiss of life" that means that I wont be listening to any of their music or watching content, however if I said "I'm boycotting blackpink's jump" that's me refusing to listen to the song only for that era and essentially hating on it.
