The Video that made them go viral and finally achieve some fame.
A History on Brave girls
They were formed by Kang Dongchul of Brave entertainment, he is a former producer of YG entertainment and as an independent producer went on to produce songs for After School, Sistar, 4Minute, T-ara, Son Dam Bi, Big Bang, Brown Eyed Girls, AOA, Hello Venus, RANIA and U-KISS among others.
In 2011 he debuted a new Girl group under BraveSound entertainment. The original 5 members consisted of Eunyoung, Seo-a, Yejin, Yoojin and Hyeran; the group debuted with 'Do You Know' between 2011 and 2013 they released 3 more title songs and albums with out any commercial success.
At the end of 2013, 3 of the members left the group and the 2 other members went on hiatus, this would last for almost 3 years.
In 2016 they cameback as a 7 member group with two original members (Yoojin and Hyeran) and five new members (Minyoung, Yujeong, Eunji, Yuna, and Hayun). Over the next year they released the album 'high hills' and then a single Yoo-hoo.
In 2017 the last 2 original members left the group and Brave Girls continued performing as 5 members. With their next comeback they would release what would eventually become their biggest hit 'Rolling', but initially success continued to avoid them.
To pay the bills, over the next 3+ years, the group would go all over South Korea to perform in front of the S. Korean troops, even in very remote posts, this slowly built them a loyal fan base among military members and Korean males that did their military service during this time. sometime around this time member Hayun left the group due to health issues.
In 2020 after 3 years since their last release, the now 4 member group released a single 'We ride". In a different universe this could have been their last release as a group and they would have disbanded soon after with out ever achiving musical success like hundreds of other kpop groups.
But destiny had something else in mind for Brave Girls.
In February 2021 a former South Korean soldier released an appreciation compilation of Brave girls 'Rolling' with comments of military personal that had enjoyed the song over the last few years, the video went viral and brought attention to the song that suddenly started to climb the charts. This all was happening while the group was in the process of disbandment, with some members having already moved out of the dorms and planing post music careers.
By March 12th 2021, 'Rolling" had climbed to #1 in all the South Korean charts, achieving the first all-kill for Brave girls. The song would remain at #1 for weeks.
Also on Mach 14th 2021, Rolling won Brave girls their first music show win; 1,854 days after the group's debut date, the group was not only saved from disbandment, but would comeback and participate in music shows once again, 4 years after the song original release.
Brave girls would release more songs between 2021 and 2023, never matching their success in early 2021, but receiving more attention from the public than before.
In 2023 Brave Girls released their last song under Brave entertainment titled 'Good Bye'
They will continue to work under the name BB girls.
