i would recommend Friday Brown by Vikki Wakefield, All that I've ever wanted by Vikki Wakefield, Identical by Ellen Hopekins or The Suprising Powers of A Good Dumpling by Wai Chim. All four look at different aspects of growing up and friendship, while Identical is more like a collection of poems its still kinda cool, the other three are written in novel format. there was also another one that was really good but I forgot what it was called. Some themes in the books are for mature ages so I'd probably say maybe for 13+, although I read identical when I was 12 so... anyway, I hope that was helpful.
