Wikitree has revealed that Taeyong did actually wrote something that was revealed to be homophobic but towards a gay close friend of his, and he became the victim of Taeyong’s past school bullying controversy that happened 10 years ago. Other classmates have also confirmed that Taeyong took part of the bullying.
After Taeyong’s return back to Korea on October 11, he was able to meet up with his old classmate to give him a sincere apology. Their discussion has been reported to last for 2 hours. The victim cried for approximately an hour and couldn’t calm down.
Taeyong is reported to have said:
“It has been such a long time since I last saw my old friend, and I am upset that it's due to something like this. Honestly, I've never felt once at ease because of this. I’ve regretted my actions dozens of times, asking myself, 'Why did I do such things like that.'"
He also apologised to the victim by saying:
"I was someone who was very poor with how I expressed myself back then. I want to sincerely apologize for my thoughtless actions and words from my youth. I'm very sorry."
The victim then responded back with, "Work hard in your promotions and take care of your health. I'll be cheering for you from afar."
After Taeyong apologised to the victim, SM Entertainment released a statement:
“Recently, Taeyong personally apologized to his friend from middle school whom he hurt with his immature words and actions during his middle school years. The friend accepted Taeyong's apology, and they both cheered on one another's future growths. Furthermore, Taeyong expressed his regret to his friend who was unable to contact him. Even after this event, Taeyong will do his best to not forget about his past, and use it as a way to help show him how to grow up and become a better person, and act properly with a humble mindset.
Thank you."
