Mnet announces full lineup for Queendom 2

On February 21st, Mnet has announced the full lineup for Queendom 2 which will premiere on March 31st at 9:20 PM KST.

The lineup will consist of: Brave Girls, Cosmic Girls, Kep1er, LOONA, Hyolyn, and VIVIZ. Girls' Generation Taeyeon will be hosting the show.

Meanwhile Queendom 1 which premiered in the fall 2019 consisted of Park Bom, AOA, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl, and (G)I-DLE as the featured participants. In the finale, Mamamoo was ranked 1st, while Oh My Girl was ranked second, and (G)I-DLE was ranked 3rd. This past December the broadcast station renewed the show for a second season.

What are your opinions on the participants?

A/N: I'm a little disappointed. I don't mean to sound like a hater because I like Kep1er but didn't they have enough exposure with GP999? LOONA and Hyolyn are also pretty known music acts in the industry. I wish they had given a chance to actual underrated groups such as GWSN or Dreamcatcher or any other lesser known but talented rookie? That would've made it a bit more interesting in my opinion...​

I agree with the A/N, Kep1er shouldn't be on the show. They're already going to beat out the other groups because of how popular they are. And Hyolyn shouldn't be here either, she's an icon to most of the industry. They should have chose more underrated groups. I do appreciate the addition of Brave Girls and WJSN, though.

Like you all said kep1er shouldn't be there considering the fact they'll get more votes due to their popularity. In my opinion I am glad that the other groups are on there such Brave girls and WJSN. Loona I feel they'll definitely bring a lot of international fans watching the show. Personally I feel like groups like Purple Kiss, and dreamcatcher could have been in the lineup it would have been the perfect opportunity to spread their fanbase in South Korea. But overall I'm ok with the lineup,

i completely agree with the a/n. also, kep1er has 6 songs, and viviz has 6 too (plus a teeny tiny intro). there's not much flexibility there, so i'm kinda like...prepared to be bored (i've only listened to wa da da and hated it, but i've listened to all of beam of prism, which was good, but nothing amazing). i was also really, really, reeeeeeally hoping for dreamcatcher on here, but that's okay :c

and like @pika_chuu said, hyolyn is so loved by pretty much everyone in the industry. she doesn't need the exposure - in korea. tho i do kind like her being on the show, bc she's not as known among i-fans, a lot of whom joined fandoms during mid-late 3rd gen, or 4th gen. still. mnet is a korean company. the goal should be to bring more attention to artists domestically bc, at the end of the day, that k stands for something. as much as i love kpop as an i-fan, korea matters.

The producers are going to pick people who are going to give the show exposure, not groups who need the exposure. As you can see, we have VIVIZ, who were in a popular girl group. Hyolyn, an icon in the industry. Kep1er, because GP999 was just a huge thing, and LOONA, who are pretty popular. But they needed some other groups just to say "Oh no no we're not biased " so they picked WJSN and Brave Girls, who are underrated but still... Fairly popular, especially for Brave Girls after Rollin' became a huge hit, and Chi Mat Ba Ram. That's why these shows are rigged anyways.

I agree as much as we all want nugu groups or lesser known groups to have more exposure it will most likely never happen because they want money and will usually bring in popular groups like you said.

yeah, you're right. and even brave girls has always done pretty well in korea (from ik), esp around their debut. i mean, their debut song was in the top 20 on the gaon digital chart, and they had a good bit of downloads for their next 2 tt.

I would say the most underrated group on there, to be honest, is probably WJSN, but even their ranking in Korea according to KBRI is 15. So none of these groups are truly underrated. Now, put a group like Girlkind, GWSN, Saturday on there, that would be an underrated group.
