On the 27th June 2023, MAMAMOO Hwasa was confirmed to be leaving MAMAMOO’s company RBW Entertainment.
In a statement they wrote:
Hello, this is RBW.
First of all, we sincerely thank everyone who love and support our agency’s artist MAMAMOO.
We inform you that our exclusive contract with Hwasa, who we have worked together with until now, recently expired. After careful discussion with Hwasa, we mutually decided to wrap up our beautiful journey together.
We will continue to provide our full support so that MAMAMOO-like activities can continue individually and together by MOOMOO’s sides.
We sincerely express deep gratitude to Hwasa who has shared joys and sorrows together with us for a long time, and please send much support and encouragement to Hwasa who will continue activities in diverse fields.

After the group turned 7 years old in 2021, Wheein left RBW and signed under The L1ve, while Hwasa, Moonbyul and Solar renewed their contracts under RBW. However, while Moonbyul and Solar’s contracts expire in December this year, Hwasa’s was set to expire after their 9 year anniversary, which was the 19th of June 2023.
Based on RBW’s statement and Wheein’s history of still being a member of the group despite company difference, it’s unlikely Hwasa has left MAMAMOO.
She is reportedly in talks for joining P Nation
