So from some unpopular opinions videos i've seen recently a lot of them are saying that SuperM will be a flop because it's in the US market, It would be beneficial to focus on Korea, NCT and Exo should be better managed, and Kai doesn't deserve to be in SuperM.

let me know what you think, will you support them? are you in favor or against the idea?

Confession time: When I first heard about it, a lot of question marks popped up above my head (wish it could be real like anime, but anyways). I thought about it and I got confused. A few hours later I read an article which explained the whole case and the reasons why SM shouldn't do this group, but I got confused again. 😂
After a while I said: "No matter what SM does, fandoms SHOULD NOT fight with each other"- about who's the best in the group and neglect the other members. On a SuperM video they upload on Vlive, my eyes were almost ready to cry from the comments that I saw. It was Horrific!😣
I'm not saying that I agree with this idea nor disagree! I'm just going to support SuperM as they are and I don't want to be like some people (with no offence guys, but look what you're doing) who say: "I'll support only Taemin!", "I'll support only EXO! Baekai! ❤", "I'll support only NCT/WayV(For those who think WayV is a different boy group, let me correct you->THEY'RE NCT MEMBERS! Thank you)!"..... Just why guys? All SuperM members are the same human beings as you, would you like hearing others neglect you or saying bad things when you're with other friends/people? The answer is: NO! No one likes it! Just stop with this s*** (I'm sorry for that), accept them all and SUPPORT ALL! Put a stop in this discrimination, for our boys!

WOW!! honestly i wish more people can think that way, because it's getting ridiculous the amount of trash that is being talked about this group. All the members are sooooo sooo soo talneted and deserve the best not this trash talk.
also i agree with you, i neither fully agree or disagree with the idea but i will support and love the group (also yes!!!!! WayV is NCT!!!!! get this straight people)

1. Well NCT's members are kinda overworked, so I kinda get it why people have problems. It's going to be for eg. Mark's 5th debut
2. It's a new group, not a sub-unit (like SM ballad or 'Wow Thing' team), so if they get monster rookie award or best new male artist - I'm gonna reee-
3. EXO fans are kinda 'spoiled'. EXO has been out there for 7 years now, for a group 'old' like that they're doing just fine. They've had 2 solo debuts and a sub-unit debut this year, and Suho said that they're also going to have a group comeback later in the year, so I don't understand why EXO-Ls are saying that EXO is mistreated. Ever since 3 Chinese members had left, EXO hasn't been mistreated that much. (Maybe except for a break between Ko Ko Bop and Tempo).
4. Avengers of Kpop and all they can come up with is superm, US gon make fun of them and then forget about them.
5. If they really wanted that money the they should promote Red Velvet better, Make Oh!GG have a comeback or NCT have one as well, hell even EXO could have a comeback (I didn't include F(x), because of Victoria being in China and current situation).
6. If they wanted to have western fame, then they could just let Red Velvet promote there, like the girls've hit 2 #1 on US iTunes Album Chart in one year, only Pussycat Dolls and Destiny's Child have done that before.
These are the main problems people have with SuperM, I will of course support the boys, but it just seems money greedy in a dumb way, because SM have so many possibilities, yet they choose the dumbest ideas and make them real. I hope that ma boys won't flop and that they will come back to their respective groups after the debut.

I agree with your point of view and I also hope they return to their respective group schedules without feeling tired after the debut! Fandoms should join forces and help them take care of themselves and not overwork or force their health/bodies to its limits.

i just remember hearing about superm and wondering why? its not new for sm to do crossover groups like this, sm the ballad and younique unit come to mind, but they weren't marketed as permanent groups like superm seems to be. and when i heard they were focusing on the us market i was particularly confused because i would've thought that if they wanted to focus on the us market they would just debut a us-based nct subunit, which is how i understood that nct was supposed to operate.

i can see why a crossover group like this is more attractive to investors than debuting a new nct subunit. despite nct having a fanbase, a new subunit of this order would involve more new members who will have to earn their stripes. by putting seasoned and popular idols in superm they basically guaranteed themselves a fanbase even before debut.

i still can't help but think that a us-based nct subunit would be the smarter long-term plan since all superm members have their own groups and even their own solo careers to get back to, thus leading to scheduling issues and the possibility of being overworked. a new nct subunit, with new members exclusive to this unit, could operate on their own schedule and can rely on the nct brand to generate buzz and kickstart a fandom. it likely won't bring in the same amount of revenue and buzz as superm will in the beginning, but it will be steadier and more focused on the long term, or at least that's how it seems to me.

i can't say for sure that superm will work, it could be that they become massively successful, or they may not break into the market as well as they hope. im just a fan, not an industry insider. i will say that the combination of idols they picked is both smart (a good balance of popular members with pretty well-varied focuses) and intriguing to me. i don't personally like all of the members picked, but some are favorites of mine that im interested in seeing work together.

whatever happens, i can only hope that the idols involved are treated well and aren't overworked for the sake of generating more money for sm. and that the superm money goes towards funding more of sm's women artists' work.

i'm happy ten taeyong and mark are taking part in superm, which ik most fans aren't exactly happy about but i think this is a great opportunity for these members to showcase their skills even more and to keep promoting nct.
i know ppl are trying to "protest"/"boycott" superm but i think they're forgetting that instead of hurting SM, they're hurting the superm members :( imagine the members working hard to debut as this new group, but then to find out netizens are calling for it to disband before they even launch their activites?? it must rlly hurt them

Personally, leaving some political stuff aside (like the China thing that I don't fully understand), I think SuperM is overall a good thing. The chosen members are smart decisions, and if anything I'm more worried about them being overworked and exploited more than anything else.
They chose the most popular members from their most popular bg, so I don't really see why people are whining about it. They saw that NCT was doing well with overseas activities so they took the chance, included the influential members from this bg and added others so that they also gain more worldwide recognition now.
Why U.S. oriented and not Korea oriented? Because they are already well-known in Korea and want to expand to the U.S market. It's a business thing and it's not really that hard to understand. Making a new U.S sub-unit would require new members, new promotions, more training, and WayV debuted still very recently so it's normal that they don't want to promote a new sub-unit. It's way more effort, way more expensive, way more time consuming and it's not a sure thing that they'll have success because it would be completely new. By putting together already famous members with their respective fandoms, it's assured that they will at least have some kind of income.
I feel like the ones complaining the most about the choice of members are new fans or solo stans. SM has always been like this, they are not going to take any chances by selecting non-popular members. Y'all make it such a personal thing because your bias wasn't picked or whatever but, as I said, it's a business thing. They are musicians in an industry and that's how things work.

This is so long omfg sorry,,,,
