On the night of February 5, a netizen discover that Hanni (NewJeans)'s family still supports the Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) - the old government that was merged to North Vietnam to form the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (recent Vietnam).
It's a common belief in Vietnam that those who support the Republic of Vietnam are anti-communism, reactionary toward current government.
This causes an angry wave in Vietnam, and some Vietnamese are calling for a boycott wave to stop supporting this female idol. However, some Vietnamese fans still claim that her family's political life is irrelevant to her, and they says that they still support her anyway.
The political scandal of Hanni (NewJeans) are now the hot topic in Vietnam. News related to her are also deleted in many electronic newspaper supervised by government.
i don't see what her family's political affiliations have to do with her. i have very different political opinions than the vast majority of my family. but either way, idrc tbh. not in this case
Thats odd. Like the above comment said the familys whereabouts and things involving her family arent her problem and isnt the causation whatsoever. I feel like everywhere i go there is always somebody boycotting or cyberinsulting somebody. But then again since it her family i see the reason why this is happening.

People are just trying to cause problems. i think it might be a racial problem? because you know how South and North Korea are divided. and i was in History the united states used to be like that. South V.s North American.
im just thinking out loud here
