On April 24, SM Entertainment announced the departure of Lucas. An English translation of the statement follows:
Hello, this is SM Entertainment.
We would like to sincerely thank all fans for your continued love and support for LUCAS.
We hereby inform you that the exclusive contract with LUCAS has concluded as of April 24th.
We will cherish every moment shared, from the early trainee days to the various activities LUCAS took part in after his debut, and continue to support him as he begins this new chapter.
We kindly ask you to support LUCAS’s new journey with encouragement.

During his time with SM Entertainment, Lucas was a member of NCT (left after extreme controversy) and SUPERM. During his time solo, he only released a single album. It was titled Renegade, and was released on April 1st, 2024. He'd also released a documentary.
This marks the 3rd SM idol to leave this year, the previous idols being former NCT's Mark and NCT's Ten.
More contracts are expected to end this year, so fans are expecting the worst, especially for the group NCT.
