Former Day6's Jae called his longtime friend and former JYP Entertainment labelmate Jamie a "thot" in one of his streams.
"Okay, now that I'm not in K-Pop anymore, I could say this: Why Jamie tryin' to be a thot?" After laughing, he then continues with, "That's right! I said it. Tell her. I said it! Tell her!"
Soon after Jamie responded:
OJry6pflrF_44BqH4lRDRmZY9bVT_7nnSh_xT_TzLtD2Ie460rOpzWFAFq-e98dLgWX7JnKl93QlLw1tW79xzPztEc5q5zM7OCLi1zYakS-md2w=w780-rj-l80-nu-e365

Then she deleted this post saying she's okay

Both Jamie and Day6 fans have been coming out to support Jamie and calling for Jae to take accountability for his words.
Jae subsequently posted an apology where he referred to the incident as something he thought was a "friendly banter" but he now realizes it was a mistake.

A/N: I don't know how to feel about this but I definitely can't side with Jae. If it was supposed to be something like a friendly banter then your friend wouldn't react like this. He messed up and it shows. Jamie has also confessed having traumatic experiences for being oversexualized so the last thing she needed right now was being called a "thot" by a supposedly good friend of hers. But that's just my opinion so...at least he apologized in the end.

No woman should ever be the victim to a man’s humour

Just like how black people should not be a victim to white people’s humour
How a gay person should not be a victim to a straight person’s humour
A trans person should not be victim to a cis person’s humour
A disabled person should not be victim to an able person’s humour
Do I need to go on?

Jamie was the offended party here. It’s not my place to accept his apology it’s hers. But until I see her physically say it’s okay I forgive him I will never be okay with people standing up for him.

i think he was completely out of line. you don't talk abt your friends like that - and then lie. i don't believe it's at all possible he thought it meant baddie. if he did, why did he laugh like that? why did he say she'd be pissed? why did he get offended when somebody called him a thot in his dms? i'm not one for telling ppl how to feel, but i hope he's v embarrassed.

how can someone whos fluent in both, English and Korean. mess up on two words that have diff meanings? I can see him messing up with trying to say baddie -even though that word has a huge different meaning with th0t- but, it still doesn't make it any better with what he said.

None of us were defending him- Simply pointing out that this 180 in his behavior is very odd. He and Jamie have always been close, and when he's uploaded on Youtube, done lives, he's never been like this. Yes, this could be his true personality, but I find it very fishy. Not defending him, just saying that his behavior is odd and perhaps should be looked into.

Конечно, он поступил неправильно. Никто не должен так говорить. Тем не менее, я думаю, что он действительно имел в виду не то. Я тоже ни разу не понял кого-то неправильно. Так что никто никого не должен судить.

Of course he did the wrong thing. Nobody should say that. However, I think he really meant the wrong thing. I have never misunderstood anyone either. So no one should judge anyone.

I think that there is no one who is right and who is wrong.

the fact that as soon as he left JYP he decides to be misogynistic. He literally said being calling her a th0t "I'm not in kpop anymore so I can say this", was he foaming at the mouth to get it out?

the key point in all of this is that he said "now that im not an idol, i can say this"... which implies that hes thought this way for a while.
maybe it's wrong of me, but every time i see a man say something like this, esp abt a friend, my first thought is that he made an unwanted advance and got rejected. and you're right; the now in his statement indicates he's felt this way for a while, but just didn't say it. but why would he feel that way abt a friend? esp one he once referred to as being like his little sister?

Anyway, I think that he meant something wrong. I think many people when they say words with a double meaning, others do not understand them that way.

I'm telling you, something is going on with him. This is something I did when I had severe depression, I lashed out at people. I can't say that he has depression, but he needs to be checked on.
