Hello.
So since we are kpop fans i think it wouldn't be so shocking if i said i learned a few kpop choreographies (not whole songs 1-2 mins) and im asking for help this time!
I am not a trained dancer at all, i don't have any experience, i did ballet for 2 years but not hardcore.
I don't have a big mirror to see myself dancing live but i recorded my dance and it looks awful. I literally learned this dance for like a week, and when i dance it, i look like a walking stick or like a robot... I can't tell what's the issue and why i look like that when dancing, but i have a mirror (just a small one but i can see my whole body in it) it looks fine to me...
Is the problem could be with my camera (what i don't think so) or is it with my dancing, and if is it, then what should i fix on it? I know you guys didn't see me dance but i actually think you guys would be traumatized if y'all did. Any tips?
I also forgot to say that i tried doing a freestyle dance and recorded it, and it seemed totally fine. But what's the issue ??
sometimes we are too harsh on ourselves and judge too much because logically we're us and we tend to judge ourselves too harshly. I'm sure you're doing just fine and truth be told I felt that while learning Love me Like This this past Friday afternoon to saturady.
i know im doing the chorus part correctly but when I record it I'm like "ew no" but i know im doing it correctly!! i even showed it to my friends and cousins and they said I was doing good (my friends said i looked like a tiktok dancer ;P )
As a trained dancer here are some tips:
1.) Do stretches before dancing. It may not seem like it helps but try it.
2.) Learn beginner dances and nit always the ones on trends
3.) use facial expression. Don't focus too much on the moves.
4.) Speak of moves. Try to either learn the hand movements and leg movements. its not good to do both. Learn one step at a time.
Also you should watch Kathleen Karm on Youtube. She does slow dance tutorials and explains them as well
Ty! I actually like dancing but im always so tired because kpop dances are really difficult and you have to do correct leg moves, hand moves, facial expressions and more and more and more... this is all really hard but i'll try
I think even if you were bad, stuff like dance takes practice. So even if right now the results arenโt desirable if you keep at it theyโll become better over time. But I havenโt seen your dance so maybe youโre just being too critical on yourself
I trained in ballet for 16 years so idk how much help this could be in regard to kpop dances. But Iโve noticed that technique is crucial in each style of dance.
Try to build up your technique by building control over every part of your body. When you do that you can apply the appropriate isolations, fluidity, etc that the choreography may require.
you probably look the way you do because of improper control. That was my issue.
As a dancer, my advise for you is to actually get dance classes if that isn't possible, try to learn easy kpop chero's first they will build up your skills. And stretch before learning,
