variety shows:
-knowing brothers / ask us anything (same show)
-new journey to the west (and the spinoffs: kang's kitchen, youth over flowers - winner, 3 meals a day in Iceland *currently airing*)
you could always watch the reality competition shows where some currently active groups were formed. (no.mercy; mydol; finding momoland; etc)
if you like survival shows, maybe you'd be interested in king of masked singer. the format is similar to a traditional survival show, but more condensed (the cast refreshes every two episodes with only that cycle's "king" continuing onto the next cycle). i find that the more korean television you watch and the more korean music you listen to, the more interesting it is because you can guess along with the panel.
-YG TREASURE BOX (trust me, you'll start crying in the first episode, im still not over the show)
-THE UNIT (a great way to explore underrated kpop groups/idols)
-SHOW ME THE MONEY (every season is *chefs kiss* i absolutely love this show)
-UNDER NINETEEN (this show was filled with talent eye- def recommend)
Survival Shows:
- The Unit: created UNB and UNI.T. Honestly, both extremely underrated. Mentors were all pretty famous (Rain, Hyuna, Taemin, Jo Hyunah, San E and Hwang Chiyeul).
- No.Mercy: created Monsta X. It's short and really intense, some performances were also top tier.
- Who Is Next: created WINNER. Was a competition between Team A (Winner) and Team B (iKON) to see who would debut first. Even if you already know the result, it's so good.
- Mix & Match: created iKON. Way too many emotions but so gold.
- Show Me The Money: rappers. That's it. I personally recommend Seasons 3, 4 & 5.
