"finally.." she said to herself.
"...i can do this, i really can do this."
all the restless nights, all of the hours
of crying in the practice room,
all of those years where it
felt like i wouldn't be going
anywhere, it was all
going to come to an end.
the stadium was louder than she had
ever imagined. she held her bandmates'
hands and as she prepared herself.
the MC announced, "introducing, XO
Entertainment's new girl group,
Girl's Love!" the crowd roared. her heart
pounded as she began to dance.
her high notes were perfect, all the hours
of training she went through to perfect it has paid
off. at the end of the performance, they all
held hands and bowed.
she though to herself on the drive back home,
"i debuted. i finally debuted... i can't believe it."
the rain dripped down the windows, she began
to count all of the little drops. "1..2..3..4.."
the minutes go by. "23..24..25..26.."
how long until we get back to the company
building? "46..47..48. . ."
a few weeks pass, they made variety show
appearances, performed more, and even
got praise from one of the biggest
award show stations in Korea, it was all
going so well..
the CEO visited us in the practice room.
he spoke in a soft, slightly upset tone.
"i'm sorry, we cannot continue the group..
we have no more money. it all went
to promotions and now the company is
broke." the members all gasped in horror.
"you all have the option to lave the company
of stay until you re-debut, but i don't think
that will happen any time soon.."
some of the members cried, some of them
got upset and left the room. she just stood
there in shock. how could there be no
money? isn't our company's boy group
bringing in a lot? they're doing so well,
but we're the younger group so does that
mean we get less? is that what it is?
a few more months passed, our company's
boy group received more promotions,
more money for the company, more concerts.
we disbanded 2 months into our career.
she renewed her contract for 4 more years,
she still had hope. a new girl group debuted a
year after our disbandment. they went on
to be successful, just like our boy group.
what was the problem?
why did they become so successful?
why not us?
her contract was almost expired,
only 3 more months..
she read the comments on their debut MV
and found herself lost in that moment of being
on stage performing again.
she reads more and more comments.
[why did they disband so early? wasted talent...]
[gosh i loved her high notes, so perfect]
she smiled.
[she looks fat, who let her become an idol?]
[XO ent. made a big mistake if they let her debut]
[i wanted to see her debut, not her look like garbage]
she scrolled more and more, all the hate was
for her and her only.
the company had money...
"i was the reason for the disbandment.."
she sat in the corner of the practice room and cried.
