I'm currently watching one of Kino's most recent interviews that he did with chronically online (with harry daniels), and he brought up a very interesting question, talking about 4minute (Hyuna) and the differences in popularity between solo artists, groups and even being in a group and still doing your solo stuff.
Kino says a group has various personalities and charms, while being solo you can only choose 'one personality' or one character. but the more group members you have, the more you can choose from. which i personally thought was a very interesting point. but he also thought social media helps a lot to, and sharing their personalities a little bit more and connecting with the world. they can see what hes saying very easily and helpful to artists.
i know i can count a lot of solo artists not from a group or a huge record label, but not everyone will know there names. what we see on social media is so different person to person and i can totally see that.
overall super interesting interview, he even talks about producer plug ins and the differences in choosing music for pentagon/ versus solo projects. rightfully i'm a little bit of a nerd and i know not everyone will find this intersing but wanted to share none the less.
