Han woke up feeling like a zombie. His head ached, he felt nauseous, his throat hurt, and he was sweating. He reached over to pick up his phone. He opened the messaging app, and his finger drifted over to the contact “♡TLOML♡”. He typed a quick message and sent it. It read: “yo im kinda sick so can u tell the guys i wont be at practice today”. His phone buzzed, showing that Lee Know liked the message.
Soon, the group chat was blowing up with messages like, “Feel better, Han” and “We love you”.
There was a knock at his door.
“It’s open,” he rasped.
Lee Know was at the door with a concerned but caring smile on his face, “Hey there. I thought I’d check in on you.”
Han smiled weakly at the sight of his hyung.
Lee Know walked over and placed his hand on Han’s forehead. “It’s hot. You definitely have a fever. Rest, I’ll make you some food.” Han wanted to protest, but Lee Know gently pushed him back down onto the bed.
“Rest, I said.” Han reluctantly sank back into the bed as Lee Know left the room.
A few minutes later, Lee Know came into the room with a bowl of soup and some water.
“Sit up,” Lee Know directed Han as he set the glass of water down on the night table. Han tried to take the bowl of soup, but Lee Know wouldn’t let him. He sat on the edge of the bed. “Don’t you wanna be fed? You seem too weak to feed yourself.” Han opened his mouth but closed it again when he noticed how much his hands were shaking.
“Open wide, Darling~” Han rolled his eyes at the nickname but followed the command, and Lee Know gently fed him a spoonful of the warm soup.
They continued this until the bowl was completely empty and Han was satisfied.
“You’re really good at cooking. That was the best soup I’ve ever had.” Lee Know smiled, “I’m glad you think so. Now, you should sleep, because that’s gonna help you heal.”
Han rolled his eyes playfully, “What are you, my mother?” But despite his efforts, he felt his eyelids drooping,
“Okay, maybe a few minutes of sleep…” He settled under the covers and shut his eyes. Soon, his breathing became steadier, and he had drifted off.
Lee Know’s eyes softened at the sight. He picked up his phone and took a picture of Han. He thought about sending it to the group chat, but he decided that such a cute picture was only meant for him. Lee Know opened tiktok and began to scroll. He was watching a video when his focus was broken by soft sounds from Han. He was frowning and was trying to call out. “...Lee Know…” Lee Know put down his phone and whispered, “Han?” Han didn’t answer, but a tear rolled down his cheek in sleep. Lee Know wiped away his tear, letting his hand linger on the younger’s cheek.
“Lee Know!” Han was calling out his hyung’s name.
“Lee Know, don’t leave! Stay with me! Please…” Lee Know’s heart squeezed when he heard Han’s desperate calls.
“Oh, Han…” He leaned over and kissed Han on the forehead. “I’m right here, darling. I won’t leave,” he whispered softly. Han seemed to relax a bit, and the corners of his lips twitched upwards into a smile. Lee Know stroked Han’s hair as he slept, and Lee Know began to hum softly. Even in his sleep, Han leaned into the touch.
“How cute,” Lee Know thought fondly. When Han’s nightmare had seemed to pass, Lee Know took his hand away. Immediately, Han let out a quiet sound of protest. Lee Know smiled and began to stroke Han’s hair again. They stayed like that for a few hours, with Lee Know occasionally whispering words of comfort and sweet nothings to Han.
Later, Han stirred gently. Lee Know took his hand away. The younger man blinked a few times and opened his eyes.
“Wha…? Oh, hi Lee Know.” He smiled. Lee Know returned the smile.
“Did you sleep well?” Han nodded. Lee Know kissed Han on the cheek like it was something they did every day, “Good. And are you feeling better?”
Han felt his face getting hot, “Keep doing that and I’ll die of love-sickness!”
Lee Know let out an amused chuckle, “Sure you will, my darling.” Han’s face turned red again, but he couldn’t stop himself from smiling.
“See what you’re doing to me? You’re terrible!” Han shoved his hyung playfully, burying his face in the crook of Lee Know’s neck.
“Me, terrible? After I came in to take care of you when you got sick? That’s the thanks I get?” The older one replied, his tone dripping with playful sarcasm. He put his arm around Han.
“I’m glad you’re feeling better though. You’re not yourself when you’re sick.”
Han seemed a bit confused, “What do you mean?”
Lee Know shook his head, “It’s nothing. You just had a nightmare when you were asleep. I’ve never seen you look so…small and frightened.”
Han nuzzled deeper into his hyung’s neck, “It’s alright. I get nightmares a lot. Did I say or do anything specific?”
Lee Know nodded, “You…nevermind. I’m just glad you’re not feeling sick anymore.” Han frowned but decided not to push further.
“I’ll be going now,” Lee Know stood up. “Thanks for letting me care for you.”
Han also stood, following Lee Know to the door, “Why are you thanking me? I should be thanking you! You came in and made me food and stayed with me while I slept! That means so much.” Han smiled gently and hugged Lee Know. Lee Know wrapped his arms around the smaller man.
“Love you,” he whispered in Han’s ear.
Han smiled. “Love you too,” he whispered back. “And thank you for staying by my side.”
