Why is mental health so important?.
by Sarah.

Mental health is important. First of all it dictates how we think, feel, and act, impacting our overall well-being, physical health, ability to cope with stress, and to build relationships, work productively, and contribute to our communities.
Did you know that your brain is like a protective engine that literally hallucinates your reality before it happens? Your brain does not only take new information from your senses but instead it uses past experiences to predict what you're about to see, hear, or fear. As to this reason, there are many more cool facts about mental health which is a very important topic as it controls your life and the way you work.
While the brain is incredibly powerful it can sometimes be way too vulnerable leaving you at risk of getting some of the deadliest mental health defects like eating disorders, substance use, and schizophrenia spectrum disorder.
Firstly let's take a look at eating disorders. Eating disorders can greatly impact your physical health because as stated by CDC “Mental health is closely linked to physical health” (“About mental health”). Eating disorders are mostly a compression of restrictive eating, eating a lot in a short amount of time, avoiding food or certain foods and many more. Furthermore eating disorders can be deadly in view of the fact that it can affect your body and the way you see yourself. Some people even hate their body so much it leads to them taking their life.
Another point worth noting is schizophrenia spectrum disorder. Schizophrenia spectrum disorder comes with many different levels to it. Firstly we have schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is the most common out of all types. Schizophrenia is composed of severe disruptions in thought and behavior marking it hard to socialize. As Mayo Clinic states “people with schizophrenia may not be able to function in the way they could before their illness”("Schizophrenia"). As the Cleveland Clinic says that “mental health shapes your emotions and actions” (“mental health”).
To sum up my paper, your mental health is really a big part of your life. As far as I am concerned whether you are 1, 5, 6 or 7 your mind is always developing new ways of thinking and processing with or without technology.
