How do y'all feel about fanfiction? Because I just read one (that's why I disappeared for a few days, I spent all my free time reading it) and it's so so good and I just want to talk about it because I'm in love
It's called Rebirth: A New Age on AO3 and it's about ATEEZ (surprise, surprise) but all the characters are different from the real people, they're basically just inspired by the real life members. They're clearly not meant to be representations of the real people, (that's why I avoid fanfics most of the time; they're fake scenarios with real people), they just have the same name and appearance, and some influence in their personalities, but they feel like entirely different people from the idols, which makes feels more comfortable for me, at least.
It's a zombie apocalypse story that follows Seonghwa as he meets the rest of the members over time and they all try to survive together and figure out what the hell is going on over the course of a decade. There's a lot of character development and all the characters feel real and well made. It's very emotional at times, which is something I always love in a story, but there's also a lot of fluff and cute/funny moments. It's paced well imo -- almost everything that's there is relevant, but it's not 100% plot development either, and there are slower moments where you get to take a step back and into the minds and lives of the characters, but they're not too long or boring. There's also a slowburn enemies-to-lovers romance between him and Hongjoong, but that's not the main focus of the book. It's roughly the length of a 600-page novel (250k words). It's rated Explicit for violence and gore.
If any of that sounds interesting to you, you should read it, because I'm obsessed and I'm rereading it again because I love it so much. I could hardly put it down and I finished it in a matter of days.
You don't need to know anything at all about ATEEZ to enjoy the story btw.

But actually, is there anyone who's even remotely interested in this? Because I love it so so much and I just want to share it with someone but I can shut up about it if none of you care

It sounds interesting and I love how it's not exactly the actual members, yk? i skimmed through it earlier and saw 'fanfiction' and slightly cringed but after reading it again I think I might like it

I'll give it a read when I have the time; bookmarking that message

That's exactly how I am too. I can't read most fanfiction because they usually treat the characters like the actual idols, but this one wasn't like that. I couldn't have continued reading otherwise. Honestly, if you changed the names of the characters, I never would've known it was ATEEZ, and as far as I can tell, that's how it's supposed to be. Each character has inspiration from the member's personality though, and their stage persona, and the background that's created for them in this world, and I think it's really cool.
