I know how ya feel.
Same man.
I was trying to learn everyone from wanna one and when I knew everyone I saw that there was a new mv.
So I watched it and then went on instagram. The first thing I saw was "wanna one disbands with last mv spring breeze".........
Yeah, I hated life for a second there. But hey once a Wannable always a Wannable y'know what I'm sayin' lol

Just make the groups permanent and I'm happy (for sure not the only one who thinks this way)

I especially dislike mnet
they do a lot of evil editing and i'm 90% sure they rigged pd48 votes
that said, i heard that the contracts for the group from pdx101 are going to be 5 years long
personally i really liked idol producer season 1... it was so wholesome

Yes!! There is no way they didn't rig pd48 votes, Lee Gaeun was in top 12 since ep 1 but she didn't debut in the end. I like survival shows but not from mnet, their editing is awful. I loved idol producer season 1 and 2 it was so much better than the rest.

I feel the same way you do. Survival shows are unfair and rigged most of the time. Most of the time, if you have visuals, you will have more screen time which will lead you to be in higher ranks. We all know mnet is shady and so Produce x 101 is probably rigged. Some trainees were really talented but they were dropped (and most didn't have outstanding visuals like min gyu). For example, jinwoo, he was rank 8, but for some reason, in the latest ep, he got eliminated in rank 23, which is crazy. Also literally all the brand new music trainees had amazing vocals and all but one were eliminated in ep 8.

Even though I support a lot of post-Produce groups, most of the end results are rigged. As you can see, MNET values visuals more than talent and they will always push certain trainees they see fits their ideal group's concept. It's a nice idea to think that you can choose to debut a certain idol and help make their dreams come true-- but because of unfair editing and vote tampering, it's nearly impossible sometimes. :(

somehow i could never get into produce series (except for jbj, but they weren't a final lineup but a fan requested group) but im thankful for no.mercy however cruel it was it brought us monsta x. and ygtb will hopefully bring us our treasure boys. those are the only two ive watched but its hard for me to get into produce groups bc i know they will disband 😭😭😭😭😭😭

other survival shows i don't actually mind as much

They use it as a way to garner publicity because the company is too small to promote them otherwise... I think it's clever in a sense to get the public's interest, but also-- like, imagine training for years only to get told you have to debut wearing a bunny mask. I'd be fuming. Still, I guess it works for the group? 😅

one of the problems I have with survival shows is that even though idols go on there to draw attention to their groups, a lot of people only end up supporting the temporary show group instead of also supporting the individual groups the idols came from. H.U.B is a good example, Hyosun got attention in The Unit with her 4Minute's Crazy performance, but H.U.B is still a fiercely underrated group. A.C.E, Boys Republic, MVP, and Gugudan are good examples too.

I get the individual groups are harder to keep up with altogether, and might not be your cup of tea, but if you want to actually support the idols then you need to support their permanent groups, too. There's a lot of akgae/solo fans that come out of survival shows too, that are sometimes disrespectful to the other group members that weren't in survival shows - but that's a whole other can of worms.

See I don't really mind the limited time because you already know what you're getting into when you get into them, that's the whole premise. That they're a temporary group and the group is meant to set them up. But if you're interested in survival shows that created permanent groups I would recommend checking out In2it (made from Boys24) and fromis9 (made by Idol School)!

I enjoy watching survival shows, even though they sadden me sometimes. Mnet’s a snake that’s for sure, yet I still watch them so. Idol Producer I prefer more tbh. I don’t mind the limited time, since I’m already informed about it. It also gets them more popularity when they debut in other groups or as a soloist.
