Today we were learning about When Mexicans were crossing the border which is pointed at(alongside smack dab in the middle of) Texas and Mexico. At first the border was not being monitored and people were able to cross the border freely.

You may be wondering..Why did the Mexicans cross the border.
Reason: Mexicans and Mexican-American's crossed the border to get from school and work. They just didn't cross to cross. They had motivation. But close to about 917(Not sure) There had been a lice outbreak and the current mayor wanted to keep lice out in all ways possible which also meant keeping Mexicans out.If they wanted to cross they ha to have been monitored to see if they had lice.If they did they had to bathe in a dangerous chemical(and vinegar.I think the chemical has a cine in it).

A total and + of 20 people died from these bathing's but that didn't stop there. Carmelita Torres had to get off the bus and be monitored to see if she had lice. But what did she do?

She refused! She also convinced 30 or so women(forgot the exact number) and they stroked against the protests. On January 28 at 7:30 AM, Torres resisted the process and refused to go through it. She was asked to get out of her trolley and to begin the process. Instead, she convinced 30 other Mexican women to get out and protest with her. When others saw their resistance they joined in by protesting as well. Within an hour, there were more than 200 women blocking the entrance to El Paso. By the end of the demonstration, there were several thousand protesters. Once the officers tried to break up the crowd, the demonstrators threw rocks at them. They laid in front of trains and vehicles. When police aimed their guns into the crowd, they responded by yelling louder. The police were unable to break them up[1][2] and she was arrested.".After her arrest she went missing. And no one has any idea what happened to her.

But even after this the bathing's didn't stop they continued;while getting worse

Another thing about this that this is directly impacted The Holocaust. The German's used Americas ideas to try and get rid of the Jewish people(Basically Germany took notes from the US).

I'm just happy that no Mexican, Mexican-American, Or any race and culture have to experience this gruesome act.

Yes it's true threads with political content is best avoided according to TOS but I'm not going to delete this thread since it has an informative purpose, unless I have members coming up to me saying they're uncomfortable with it.
But yeah keep in mind for the future that politics is not encouraged to be discussed here, you could always talk about it in PM's tho as long as both you and your conversation partner are fine with it ๐Ÿ‘
