Play M Entertainment was originally formed in 2011 as a subsidiary of Cube Entertainment, but was bought out by the company Kakao M in 2015. With the change in ownership the subsidiary became Plan A Entertainment. In 2019 Kakao M would merge Plan A and Fave Entertainment to become Play M Entertainment.
On November 12, 2021 it has been announced that Play M Entertainment and Cre.Ker Entertainment have officially confirmed the merger and became IST Entertainment.
