THE ORIGIN – A, B, Or What?: Where Are They Now?

The Origin – A, B, Or What? (디 오리진; also shortened as The Origin) was a 2022 survival program created by IST Entertainment in association with its parent company, Kakao Entertainment, and Sony Music Entertainment Japan. It aired on MBN, Kakao TV and 1theK YouTube channel on March 19, 2022, every Saturday timeslot for eight episodes. There were 13 contestants that range from 2002 to 2005 where only 7 will be able to make it to the final lineup. In the finale on May 7, 2022, the show announced the final 7 members who would debut as ATBO.

Rank-1 (Debut) – Jeong Seonghwan

— He was eliminated in episode 5 after being voted off by the judges in the survival balance round, but on On June 17, 2022, IST Entertainment announced that Won Bin would be debuting in the group in replacement of Yang Donghwa.
— He debuted in show’s final lineup, ATBO.

Rank-6 (Debut) *Left The Group – Yang Donghwa

— On June 13, 2022, IST Entertainment announced that he would not be a part of the group’s lineup after his past misconduct when he was a student surfaced online.
— He recently opened social media and is regularly posting.

Eliminated Contestants:

— He regularly posts on social media.

Episode 9 (Final Round) – Jeong Junho

— Nothing has been heard from him since the show ended.

Episode 9 (Final Round) – Kim Minseo

— He left IST Entertainment and appears to have signed under Fantagio as a trainee.

Episode 5 (Survival Balance) – Park Jaehoon

— He left IST Entertainment and appears to have signed under Fantagio as a trainee.

Episode 2 (PR Balance) – Kang Daehyun

— He left IST Entertainment and has signed as an actor under Urban Works.
— He posts regularly on social media.
— He is a contestant of the MBC Korean survival show “My Teenage Boy/Fantasy Boys” (2023).
