Chapter One
The rain pounded against the covering where Aera was sitting, waiting for the bus to take her to work. She didn't even realize it was going to rain today until she had already left her apartment. Naturally, she had forgotten her umbrella, so she was stuck sitting under the covered bus stop, constantly checking the time on her phone.
Aera couldnβt afford being late again, or else her boss would fire her. She sighed as she stared up at the grey clouds that moved through the sky, it didn't seem like the rain was going to let up anytime soon.
She heard the bus turn the corner, so she stood up, holding her bag close to her body as she looked to her left. The bus came to a stop in front of her and the doors opened. Aera quickly boarded, using her card to pay for her ride.
As she made her way to the back, Aera noticed a pale figure, possibly around the same age as herself, sitting in the corner seat in the back. He had blonde hair, that was slightly longer than most males her age, almost like a mullet hairstyle. He was also dressed in a nice dress shirt, black slacks and black boots.
He also wore a hat, that was pulled down slightly, covering his face, but he seemed to be asleep. The problem was, that was the seat Aera usually sat in.
She bit her bottom lip, before sitting down a few seats in front of him. It didn't really matter, right? It was just a seat, it's not like it had her name assigned to it or anything.
By the time Aera got to work, the mysterious man was gone.
Huh? When did he get off? I don't remember the bus stopping anywhere from the time it picked me up until now. she thought to herself as she scanned the bus riders, but didn't see him.
It was like he vanished into thin air.
The thought of him being a possible ghost, it sent chills down her spine, and Aera hurriedly left the bus.
Thankfully, the rain had let up some, it was a light drizzle now, and Aera also made it to work on time. She walked into the coffee shop she worked at and placed her bag and jacket on the coat rack, before going to the back to clock in.
"Oh good, you're here." Her bossβs voice caught her attention.
Aera bowed to him, before clocking in. "Sorry, I had to take the bus because of the rain." she said, grabbing a paper towel and wiping the water from her face, careful to not mess her makeup up.
"No worries, you're going to be training someone today though, so I hope you're prepared." He explained.
"Oh...did someone else quit?" She asked.
"Yes, but that's not the point. Come on, I'll introduce you to him." Her boss said, walking out of the break room where she clocked in. Aera followed behind him.
When he said him, her mind immediately thought of the mysterious male figure she saw on the bus & she felt shivers once more.
Aera shook her head slightly, as if the thought would just magically disappear from her mind, but it wasn't, it was engrained in her memory now and it gave her the absolute creeps.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize they had made their way into her bossβs office until he snapped his fingers in front of her face.
"Aera." Her boss called her name two or three times before she finally came back.
"Huh? Oh, I'm sorry, Minhyuk." Aera said, before noticing someone standing behind and off to the left of her boss.
Luckily, it wasn't the mystery guy from the bus, and it caused her to release the breath she didnβt know she was holding.
He was tall, very tall, actually, with a slender body. He had dark brown, almost black hair, that was somewhat shaggy but not long like the mysterious blonde mullet boy she saw on the bus.
"This is Jeong Yunho, he'll be starting today and you'll be training him over the next week." Minhyuk explained to her, before bowing and leaving the room, leaving the two of them alone.
Aera stared at Yunho, something seemed off about him but she couldn't put her finger on it. He smiled, a perfect white smile, before bowing to her. "Hello! It's a pleasure to be working with you!" He said in an enthusiastic voice.
She couldn't help the smile that creeped up on her face, as she returned the bow, "likewise. I'm Aera." She introduced herself.
"I know. I heard." He smiled.
Aera also smiled, before clasping her hands together, "okay! Training starts now!" She said, completely forgetting about the mysterious man from this morning for the time being.
