I don’t usually Stan groups after they have disbanded and there are a few reasons why I don’t.

1. This is the main reason why and it because there isn’t going to be new content ever. If I continued stanning them there would just be the old content to go through, even if there was a lot it would run out eventually till there was nothing left. As with most disbanded groups I’ve scanned I upset and sad so don’t really want to go through their content. Especially since it would make me sadder which is worse.

2. It’s too sad as I mentioned above and I don’t want to just be thinking sadly about them all the time when I could move on and find other groups to Stan or continuing to Stan and enjoy the groups that are still around. While i would still treasure the groups that I used to Stan but are disbanded. I don’t want to feel pain or sadness by trying to force myself to Stan them especially knowing they’ve gone and don’t exist as a group anymore and possible even getting to the piomt where I get depressed about them and their disbandment.

3. They don’t exist as a group anymore which is why there will be no new content and I don’t want to reminisce over what could have been forever. I don’t simply see the point and cannot see any reason to continue stanning them. Especially if it just makes me feel sad. I don’t understand why people continue to Stan disbanded groups. Now don’t get me wrong I respect their decision to and I don’t mind nor have any hate hate towards these people. It’s just without knowing why and no clear reasoning I personally can’t continue stanning. Although this doesn’t mean I wouldn’t be open to any reasons which I could then understand or at least try to.

what do guys think about this. Do you agree? Have any of you continued to Stan a group after disbandment I would love to know how and why?

I haven't really had any of my main groups that I've properly like disband since I've become a kpop stan. The only group I can think of is ANS who were less than a year old.
For ANS I currently don't really actively see where they all are however I'm likely to check out any groups they end up in in the future if they re-debut.

As for older groups that might disband out of age, I have no idea. I think it depends between each group. Eg with MAMAMOO they all have existing solo careers and so I believe they'll keep promoting after the actual group ends, but other groups might not have that. I'd definitely keep supporting any further activities (and with my favourite favourite groups I'd keep up with SNS accs n stuff) but past that I'd probably go to find new rookie groups

Disbandment doesn't stop me from talking about and loving a group. The only reason why I'd stop stanning a group is if I lose interest in them and yes, it's easy to lose interest if there hasn't been any new content uploaded in a long time (especially for disbanded groups).

For example, Myteen disbanded 2 years ago but I still stan them to this day. Why? Because I really loved the members and they have nice songs, also the members are somewhat active on social media and they interact with each other every once in awhile so it's not like they've completely disappeared after their disbandment.

If I truly love a group then it doesn't really matter whether they're active or on a hiatus or whatever, watching old content has become a source of comfort for me so despite not having anything new to look forward to, I can always go back and re-live those moments as if I'm watching it for the first time.

While I don’t mean that because I’ve unstaneed the group it doesn’t mean I don’t love the group and it’s members as I mentioned the gruop is still special to me and I can still like their songs like with BAP and Boyfreind. But personally for me I can’t say that I Stan them as stanning to me is not only appreciating the group old stuff but being able to appreciate their new stuff and enjoying the group during their time. When they disband the group is no longer together meaning personally I cant Stan them as a whole. This does not mean that I dont Stan or support individual members future activities if they have any, even if it’s more from the sidelines. To Stan a group is to cheer for them as a whole group as well as the individual members.

I also think it depends on the group sometimes they really do dissapear and you never know what happens to the memerss meaning they don’t go on to have future activities individually. While you decided to continue to stan myteen with just the members sometimes interacting with each other on social media and I totally respect that. Personally that wouldn’t be enough for me to contumitnue stanning a group. I hope this doesn’t sound greedy but I need more than that. Also I guess this might sound weird but by upstanding them I can give myself closure I guess on the fact that the group has disbanded and I can finally come to terms with the whole idea and be able to let go whilst still treasuring the group and happy memories of them in my heart. I guess as well I always get sad when I think about these groups and things that I wish would have happened and so I can’t help but turn happy memories into sad ones and stuff into sad ones.

I’m sorry if I offended or hurt anyone with my comments I didn’t intend to. im Sorry if this wasn’t a good thread. I probably should have apologised earlier but I have spent a long time thinking about this. I’m not sure why but i just felt like I needed to.

I would still love and stan if my groups were to fall apart.. There are too many memories for me to just up and left.
I don't stan just for the music or because of their visuals, but everything that they are too..

I realise that I wasn’t very clear in expressing my opinion. I feel I used the word ‘unstan’ wrongly with a different meaning than most people. I only meant ‘unstan’ in the way that I don’t necessarily Stan them but I am still fond of the group yet I don’t Stan then but neither ‘unstanned’ them. I think what I was trying to say was when they disband after a while these groups tend to go to the back of my mind I might not concentrate on them as much and I might not listen to their music as much. But I still like the group and have happy memories of them. I don’t completely ’unstan‘ groups. Why because I still kinda Stan Wanna One and Boyfreind. I also love seeing 14U members re in new groups and want to Stan all their new groups. BAP and Boyfriend songs are still bops to me. I still want X1 to redebut but also supporting the members who redebut in new group and individually. I say this because I want you guys to know that I do still care about them and how I actually feel about disbanded groups and that it’s actually positive and not negative. I hope you can understand. I’m sorry that what I intended to say come out in the wrong way and maybe caused some misunderstandings. I’ll try my best from now on to be more care in the future on how I say things.
