Which one is your favourite generation out of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th generations? And what groups and the songs they released in that certain generation made it significant for you?
For knowledge the Kpop generations are,
1st generation: 2002 and before
2nd generation: 2003 to 2011
3rd generation: 2012-2017
4th generation: 2018 onwards
(I think these are the correct years, though I'm not pretty sure of the 2nd and 1st generation timelines. Correct me if I'm wrong)

Though I believe that the 2nd generation is overall Kpop's golden era, the 3rd generation has to be my pick because I became a Kpop stan at that time. It gave me so many songs and artists (such as Seventeen, Twice, Got7, SF9, Red Velvet, EXO, KON, Pentagon, NCT, Gugudan, WJSN) which are now on my top all-time favourite list. The 3rd gen also gave us so much variety content and the year-end music concerts which are so memorable. When I watched the recent music shows, 4th gen artists' interactions and collabs, they didn't feel like before. I really want to go back to the era of 3rd gen.

My personal favourite generation is gen 4, which I think makes sense since it’s the generation I joined kpop so naturally all the debuts I’ve witnessed and songs released have been during the 4th gen so it’s just more sentimental to me. Plus, it’s the newest generation so ofc all the music quality is up to date and, even though the industry still has far to go, idols have more rights now than they did a while ago.

But ofc, we have to acknowledge gen 1 and gen 2, coz even though I know hardly anything about gen 1, these were my faves’ faves. They walked so the future generations could run. Without them kpop wouldn’t be what it is today

Definitely 3rd generation because I got into k-pop during their golden time but I rlly like 2nd generation too. Idols seemed more relaxed with interactions back then and ppl didn't focus that much in views and visuals.

And not just music actually, but in terms of everything else - like the interactions between some bgs and ggs and stuff bc nowadays it’s not like that anymore
