What are some kpop songs people misunderstand, i.e., misinterpret the meaning of? For example, many people think that BTS's "House of Cards" is about sex, when it's actually about a relationship ending very bitterly and painfully (I've also seen theories that it's from the perspective of a child slowly watching their parents fall out of love, which is cool).
"Bicycle" by Chungha sounds very sexual, and meaning people assume it's about, well...riding, but not a bike. It's actually about her haters, and how their hate only makes her stronger and raises her popularity.
I can't think of many, but maybe "Ice Cream" by TXT? It sounds very upbeat and cheerful, but the lyrics are quite sad.
Also, to add on, I can see why fans could misinterpret certain songs. A lot of Korean lyrics and phrases don't translate directly to other languages, plus the "mood" or "feel" of a song could throw off the listener. Like @sanasideup said, "House of Cards" sounds like a sensual song so many could assume that the lyrics are 18+ when the true meaning of the song is completely different. Finally, it's easy to focus only on the English parts of a song if you don't have the full translation or understand Korean. I'll use "Bicycle" as another example: one of the main English lines in that song is "you like it when i ride it" so yeah... I can see how some could misunderstand. Sorry this reply is so long btw, I just thought it was kind of interesting!
A lot of ppl know that Likely by Twice is not really a cute, happy sing, but I don't think they realize how serious it actually is. Some of the lyrics are, (roughly) "I hold my breath to pull up the zipper, tighten the waist," "I feel melancholy today, I pretend I'm not, but I'm still sad," and "One moment I'm crying, then dancing with excitement again."
