Ever since being announced in April this year, LE SSERAFIM’s member Kim Garam has been accused of bullying a classmate severely during middle school. Originally, HYBE denied these accusations, threatening to sue the alleged victim, however the victim did not stop the accusations.

After their debut in May, people continued to criticise HYBE’s decision to promote Garam and eventually she was withdrawn from promotions. However HYBE continued to support Garam saying there were no plans to remove her from the group.

While some people began to side with Garam following other pieces of evidence, others strongly believed Garam was a bully and should be removed from the group entirely. There was outrage upon finding out Garam was still present at the Source Music building and was signing albums and posters. She was also present in a magazine shoot which caused further controversy.

On the 20th July 2022, HYBE/Source Music finally announced their exclusive contact with Kim Garam would be ending.

I’m sure this decision will be a relief to some, and horrifying to others. To me, I think regardless whether Garam was a bully or not this was the best decision for the LE SSERAFIM members, Garam and if she is guilty, Garam’s victim. If Garam had stayed in LE SSERAFIM, she would forever be known as a bully, and she’s only 16 years old. Her career was over before it had a chance to begin. And the other members were being affected too, with Eunchae and Kazuha having never been exposed to Kpop before and Yunjin’s exposure ending at Produce 48 only, being associated as in a group with a bully could’ve severely damaged their career. I hope, regardless of who Garam truly is, she grows up from this and is able to live a peaceful life, along with the victim whether she was the true bully or not.

I don't know how I feel about Garam. I don't wanna be radical, but I do think Garam is guilty. I think taking her out was the best decision (in case she is guilty) because it doesn't look like she has changed (again, in case she is actually a bully). Specially because she was gonna debut in IVE.
And if she's not, then I hope she is doing well, and still think that taking her out was the best decision. It's better to take another path in life than to be exposed to immense hate.

Garam ruined Le Sserafim reputation guilty or not. So this was probably the best decision
Bad publicity is still publicity. Especially when you use a girl you'll fire out soon.
There is almost no reputation damage, just free publicity for the remaining group and cost cut.
They probably put all the blame on her so it's free tax for them. She still has to pay back her trainee days, so she's already been muted.

What I'm watching, is an out of proportion scandal from past school issues around a young girl who was already punished for her bad behaviors. And it's something like 40-60% of responsability for each parties. Not something we should care 4 years later.

As an idol, I don't have seen any flaw with her public apparences.

She is constantly harrassed, haters band against her since her school days and that won't stop.
The group was totally mute about her, she was ignored and the company is editing like she didn't exist.
That's currently bullying.

little rant
i'm very mad about this controversy. tbh i'm not an anti garam or a pro garam, i'm neutral about it
also, i think ppl on the internet should do the same. okay, there's proofs, but idc. 👏WE👏CAN'T👏KNOW
i explain myself: seriously, are you a employee in hybe to know what happened and to have a valid opinion about it? or to spread hate against her? imagine if all of this was created by hybe just to ruin garam's career for x reason? that was kind of expected but i'm a bit sad for her, bc she was at the very beggining of her idol career :c
all of theses kind of controversy are the same. we have the guilty idol, and the victims.
it really is a waste of potential

i've heard that hybe was planning on kicking her out even before debut. i'm not sure how true this is, but according to the post a hybe employee said that the plan was to kick her out as soon as the bullying scandal got starting getting big, but then hybe decided to milk it and wait to have her leave. and if that's true, it's disgusting; that would mean they willingly let a CHILD become the target of an insane amount of hate just so the company could get more attention (which they don't need, they're fricking hybe!)

But other than that, it's not so good that they left on a more negative note. For example when I have to prepare for college I use https://edubirdie.com/college-application-essay-writing because college application essay writing seems to me one of the best ideas to get good grades, it distinguishes me by the fact that I am an exemplary student and besides that compared to other exemplary students I have a lot of free time that I can use for something other than college.
