I love a good antidrop but every song these days has an antidrop 😬 Let’s spice it up a little thank you IVE for your not antidrop even if there wasn’t the 2010s beat drop I wanted

Also people under 16 debuting. GO BACK TO SCHOOL. HAVE A CHILDHOOD

fr like the anti-drops are so predictable these days.

and like I feel like the reason why minors are debuting is mostly because of the fans.
companies do pay attention to when K-pop stans say stuff like ¨omg she/he debuted at 25?! that's so old!¨ or ¨yeah once an idol turns 30 they should leave the group¨
so when the companies observe this they start debuting younger idols since that's what they see the public wants
even though its not right

This!! Gah, this is one of the worst things about the industry, it's so frustrating.
I'm always happy when I see a group debuting with ""older"" members in comparison, when a group consists of people that are practically still children I always feel so bad. Both because of the fanbases and the industry that can be really predatory, and when you're younger you don't have that much living experience yet and are more likely to get exploited too. It's pretty much just child labour at this point- I mean, this sounds a bit harsh, and a lot of idols dream of becoming an idol from early on, but it is just both mentally and physically especially not healthy with an industry like this...

I really miss the days people enjoyed comebacks without mass streaming music videos for views. I've seriously seen fans being disappointed in other fans cos the mv of their faves didn't reach 100 million views in 24 hours 🤡
Oh also the ageism in kpop, I wouldn't call it a trend but it's still an issue that needs to be stopped. You're not old if you're over 25. People been bashing BoA for still being an idol and discrediting her title as "K-Pop Queen" cos they don't know her and according to them she's not relevant anymore...like they can't realize that K-Pop existed before their faves too. Yeah as you can tell, they piss me off.

This is the reason I could never settle down on stan twt. Most people here see me as such a dedicated Midzy but on stan twt I’m seen as lazy and don’t care about the members. Why? Because I don’t stream their music videos or their songs. I don’t spend my time collecting and spending votes to help them win award shows. I’m just here for the music damnit I know ITZY want those awards but I’m not the one winning so at the end of the day… I wanted a hobby not a career 😭 Itzy are the ones who signed up for the career not me

I mean it would've been different if we were getting paid for it, right? I wouldn't mind streaming in that case 🤭 Forreal tho, kpop is cool but there's a line between having fun and being forced to do stuff. That's when it stops being fun and ends up becoming dull.

Oh my god the streaming thing has always been so weird to me!! Ever since I started getting into kpop and saw people constantly talk about streams on Twitter or even in the YouTube comments... The music is there to be enjoyed not seen as a job?? Imagine being an idol and you want to see what people think about the latest music video and all you see is "stream!!" "stream!! only (X) until (X) views!!" I'd be so annoyed lmaoo
And especially wild how people that don't stream 24/7 are being judged. I think this is a big problem nowadays in a lot of music communities though, it's really weird. And then also dismissing another one's group because they don't have as many streams. Honestly seeing big numbers doesn't feel like as big of an achievement anymore when you know a lot of them come from the same person.

Which also brings me, because it's kind of related, to another thing. Solo-Stans, the toxic ones, are so absurd. First, stanning only one group obviously isn't bad on it's own or just focusing on one the most, but when they act like their group is the only good one, that's really weird... Especially when they go and hate on other groups, even under posts meant for those groups. Or when a group has a similar concept/outfit/song title/etc. as their favs they immediately call them copycats. First of all, I love seeing multiple groups do similar things, that only means there's going to be more of it. Secondly, most of the time the concept has been done long before their favs too, that's the point, different adaptions of all kinds of themes.
Hating on any groups or idols is something that makes no sense and only makes you a bad person. Plus, your favs would absolutely not like you as a fan for that too?? There have been so many times I followed someone's account for posting about groups I like, only to later see a post where they bash another one and I was just like??? Why???

The albums mass buying culture.
Like especially for fancalls, I wish they can make people get raffle tickets instead of letting them purchase mass tons of albums when all of the money for that could literally be saved and spent for some other stuff especially the ones that are more important (paying telephone and electricity bills, rent e.g.). Also, bulk buying albums can definitely take a toll on your mental health in so many ways - hell I feel even sorry for the ones that have mass purchased albums but still didn’t get into the fancall. It’s pretty sad and fucked up honestly.

Not to mention bulk buying is super bad for the environment because so many fans just chuck away the majority of the albums they don’t need anymore. I really think there should be a better system for the fan calls
