Early february IST Entertainment announced that they would be debuting a new boy group in the first half of 2022, with the members being selected through a survival program that will air in February.

On February 11 at midnight KST, IST Entertainment revealed that the show will be titled “THE ORIGIN – A, B, OR What?” and shared profile photos and details of 13 contestants.
