SHINee‘s member Key did an interview with Allure. In the interview he talks about his journey becoming a kpop idol. He also talked about the many things SM Entertainment have done for SHINee after they debuted in 2009 with their song “Replay.”
According to Key, he believes that SM Entertainment made SHINee.
This isn’t first time that happened to a rookie group. The same thing happened to many idols even Super Junior. They all explained how SM would control everything, music and image.
Key explained after 7 years from their debut the staffs start asking the members about their opinions. He was thrilled.
With their own ideas and opinions, they released their album, Odd, in 2015. They all influenced the concept that includes costumes based on Key’s own ideas.
Despite having fears that some people may not like the concept, but Key said he had no regrets. This allowed SHINee to show who they really are.
