Russia Debate (European or Asian?)

I’m so confused whenever I see maps say “Oh, Russia is an Asian country” or “Russia is a European country”

The majority of Russia falls above the other Asian countries, and so growing up I always decided it was in Asia coz it was with the other Asian countries.

However, the majority of populated Russia is towards the very far left of the country, which falls where the European countries are. Plus most of the culture in Russia (which I’ve seen) is similar to that of European countries.

So ig geographically it’s Asian but culturally it’s European-

Come on! A debate? I only know them as Eurasian people.

i feel like it's split in half? like, the left half is european, and the right half is asian. ig that makes it eurasian?

Culturally they are European, but if we are talking land wise there is more land in Asia of Russia than in Europe.
Glad I remembered this when my Russian school in 5th grade.
