NCT & WayV member Hendery recently posted some pictures of himself wearing a wig with Jamaican Rastafari inspired headband and fake dreads on Weibo while being inside the car.

After uploading the pictures he soon deleted them but fans managed to save them and express their discomfort/anger by making his name a trend on Twitter. Others attempted to educate him about cultural appropriation as they felt this matter shouldn't be dismissed so easily.

Okay, my two cents: We shouldn't be like: "OMG I HATE YOU YOU'RE SO DUMB OMG YOU'RE SUCH A RACIST JERK." yeah, no. that's not how problems get solved. ever. He may not even know what the problem is with this--- Only that he saw people getting angry, and decided to sweep the problem under the rug. We do not need to yell at him, we need to tell him why this isn't okay so he can be better educated.

I'm so disappointed... I don't know why the same mistakes are being made over and over again. Let's hope he gets educated and learns from this.
SM better start educating their artists because the amount of cultural appropriation that SM and SM idols have done compared to other companies is not great.

This response is definitely THE BEST WAY to go about this. Instead of bullying people and calling them racists, we need to educate people on how what they did is wrong or upsetting and move forward from that.
