i have to disagree. i don't think it's "stolen" just bc it's a similar style. if it was cultural appropriation, that'd be different (and obviously wrong), but i don't think that's the case here. technically, rock music is "stolen" too. the pioneer of rock music was chuck berry, an african-american man. jazz, hip hop, rap, trap, blues, techno, new age, and more were invented by black people (who often go uncredited and/or undiscussed). and saying k-r&b is "stolen from black people's music" just makes it sound like black ppl are limited to only r&b or similar genres. i'm sure you didn't mean it like that, it just rubs me the wrong way /nm
that said, i don't really like k-r&b either. i'm not really a fan of r&b at all. i like the occasional song, but for the most part, i just don't listen to it bc it's not really my style, so to speak.
