After Squid Game's big succes
Hwang Dong Hyuk mentioned a possible season 2 and even 3 of the drama, but nothing was official.
Today, Ted Sarandos (the co-CEO of Netflix) said: “Of course there will be a season 2 of 'Squid Game'. The 'Squid Game' universe is just beginning.”

some weeks after season 1's release, i saw that hwang dong hyuk said that if there will be a season 2, we'll see the front man's past, and joon ho's story (the policeman)
i also saw that he said that gi hoon will return so idk c':

1. We never actually saw Junho die. It's quite possible that he did survive falling into the sea and getting shot. This is a K-Drama after all.
2. I think that Gihun is gonna go into the games and fuck shit up. He doesn't want this system to continue, and he wanted to break it. It's how the show ended. So there's a plot there.
3. Maybe we could get more backstory? Idk
