JYP Entertainment has issued an official pology on February 11, after a hanbok designer called out a recently released video of TWICE members Dahyun and Chaeyoung covering Rain and J.Y. Park's "Switch To Me".

Earlier, designer and visual director Kim Balko, known for her work in custom-made, modernized hanbok designs, posted the following via her SNS, writing, "Ehhng??!! My custom design work is in a video that I didn't participate in??!!"

JYP apology:
"Hello. this is JYP Entertainment. Regarding the outfit seen in Dahyun and Chaeyoung's Melody Project video, this hanbok piece was purchased through a hanbok distributor; nonetheless, we were not able to properly recognize its similarity to others' work. We would like to sincerely apologize for this mistake. We offered a thorough explanation as well as our sincere apologies to the designer involved. We will take greater care to ensure that this does not happen again."

Netizens were quick to point out how Dahyun and Jisoo on HYLT MV jackets were identical: (click on the photos for a better view)

Edit: Korean netizens reaction: "This is embarrassing," "How did they not know? BLACKPINK's music video was so popular," "That hanbok design even won awards," "Saying they just got it from a Hanbok distributor is just an excuse," "That just shows how the stylist team for TWICE is careless," and "Please JYP..."
International fans also joined in on the conversation as they shared their opinion via Twitter. They've since tweeted their messages with the hashtag #FREETWICE and #JYPE_OUT, which quickly trended globally.

A/N: Okay first of all neither group is at fault, it's all the stylist faults (because I've read enough people blaming Twice and glorifying how everyone copies Blackpink cos they're the best blah blah) but a good thing about JYP is that they knew when to acknowledge and apologize for their mistake.
I saw no apology from YG last year when they plagiarized Jennie's HYLT teaser eye make up from a smaller MUA who did it first and no further attention was given ๐Ÿคก

Its definitely not the girls fault. its the stylists. Im glad JYP apologized since this is just straight up copying and stealing someones custom made design without credit
As much as I don't like JYP I also have to give it to them that they apologized and also apologized in time. I agree it's not the group's fault and unfortunately so many bad comments about Twice occurred..
