ngl I love your overanalyzingTime for Miel to overanalyse!
So first of all, I don’t particular love Kep1er’s music. So if I were to determine their overrated or underrated-ness purely on my opinion alone, I’d dare say they’re overrated.
But that’s quite unfair so.
Kep1er are a Produce Group. Sure Girls Planet wasn’t part of the Produce branding, but it is very much Produce Season 5.
If we compare the success of Kep1er to the other Produce Groups, we could easily argue they’re underrated, as the other groups blew up and became national treasures. Kep1er hasn’t.
I think the reason for this is because of how popular other 2022 rookie girl groups are. They’re having to compete against IVE, Le Sserafim and New Jeans
However, I also think that Kep1er just doesn’t really… fit as a group. I’ve seen a couple people saying that Mnet should’ve just been able to rig the lineup again, because they’re professionals at the entertainment industry. They know what groups need to be successful. Leaving the public to choose the members meant sure the group was made up of exactly who people wanted it to be - but was that combination necessarily a good one??
Some of the members feel like they would fit more mature concepts, while others are so bright and colourful. And the differences in what members suit what is so obvious when it comes to screen time and line distribution.
Overall, I don’t know. I think for their situation perhaps yes they’re underrated. But as a group in general I think they’re just about the right rated. Groups don’t need to have BP BTS level success to be successful so yes
Thank you. I have nowhere else to dump my thoughts so they all go on this sitengl I love your overanalyzing
I feel like Kep1er is kinda a hot mess because of the fact that the members suit different concepts. This has lead to them trying out various different ones and not forming their own identity as a group. They're supposed to have a cosmic concept but that was only evident in Wa Da Da. I think they have had plenty of boost during their debut and them not preforming as well as other 4th gen groups is due to these issues. So If anything maybe they are overrated?Time for Miel to overanalyse!
