Hi y'all, this is not a diss post. My bias wrecker is Lia (get well soon!)

Anyways so ITZY released a pre-release titled "Born to Be", which is conveniently the title of the 10 track album. The chorus, the refrain, the rap and the vocals all mesh together really well, unlike the flops that are Sneakers and Cake. The mafia/fire concept is one of ITZY's most refreshing, particularly since it has In the Morning to back it up. Born to Be combines the love yourself and the girl crush concepts really well, which only excites me for the whole album being released. This track also have Ryujin and Yuna more lines! (Hopefully chaeryeong gets more in the upcoming album). This comeback (based on the prerelease and others ra kings) has been more well received than ITZY's previous prereleases (boys like you, bet on me ect) which is a sign of success. Personally, Yeji and Chaeryeong get a chance to shine in vocals especially Chaeryeong since she has taken the role of main vocalist in this prerelease, and Chaeryeong and Yuna actually got a Center part in the dance break of born to be, the first of any ITZY dance break not being Ryujin(?).

Anyways, I feel like ITZY actually did a very good job. The choreography actually fitted ITZY (fight with the wall) and could be fast paced since Lia wasn't restraining them back. I'm not saying that Lia is a bad dancer, but I think she suffered a leg injury before? Either that or she just regressed which is natural for someone who has been in the industry since 2019(?). I feel like with lia, this pre release would not have been as successful as it really became. On the other hand, the pre release may become one of the songs that fly under the radar, which concerns me especially since JYP isn't doing the group any favours (barely any promotion, only two different sets for the whole mv, no song on Spotify ect). On the other hand, Lia is a great vocalist that strengthens ITZY's vocal line greatly, since she trained at SM previously. I really wish that Lia would come back to the group, but with JYP releasing her solo a solid month before the pre release of the album has me thinking that this is a ploy for JYP to see if ITZY OT4 would become more successful. Of course, Lia's hiatus is within no one's control and I really do hope she gets better.

The final message from me is that im still confused if ITZY will flop or go viral with their new album, and if ITZY OT4 would become the new ITZY, with Lia as a potential soloist? That could also work out for Lia as she already has a pretty big fanbase (unlike soloists who don't get much recognition like Bibi, Lee Chaeyeon ect) and she could actually sing however low or high she wants to without ITZY's sound restraining her.
What are your thoughts?

My OT4 positions:
Yeji: Main Dancer, Main Vocalist, Lead Rapper, Leader

Ryujin: Main Rapper, Lead Dancer, Sub Vocalist, Center, Face of the Group

Chaeryeong: Main Dancer, Main Vocalist, Sub Rapper, Visual (fight. With. the. wall.)

Yuna: Main Rapper (fight with the wall), Lead Vocalist (again, fight with the wall ;) ), Lead Dancer, Maknae
