i don't remember since it was like 4 yrs ago but probably BTS ngl
Few years back No Straight Roads came out, I was immediately obsessed with the game and soundtrack since it was so good so I decided to look for music similar to the character's representative music for fun and eventually was like yeah so 1010 are a kpop group parody so I guess I'm gonna have to check it out even though I was always staying very far away from it (thanks to certain people in the fandom, think most can relate)... So I looked through the Spotify kpop category, picked something randomly (Stray Kids' SKZ2020 album) and from then on it was OVER for me it's am important part of my life now dhjkgfdg

I heard abt itzy so i searched up then liked it. Then i started liking more groups. Btw itzy wasn't the first group i knew, it was blackpink but i didn't knew it was kpop and didn't like them. (I like them now both itzy and blackpink)
i got into blackpink first because i loved solo-jennie without knowing it was kpop, saw her on the cover of another song "AIIYL" and clicked on it, i fell in love, hated bts because i wanted blackpink to be on top, but then i listened to a few songs on bts and fell in love, then I liked BTS more, and those were the only kpop groups i followed, and then my friend showed me "in the morning" and I fell in love again, and then i started getting into more groups.
It was in 2020, I was scrolling through youtube and I found a song and it was recent, i liked the thumbnail so i clicked on it, and i really liked the song ,it was how you like that by blackpink, which became my first kpop group, i then found out about "K-pop" and decided to hear more songs, and I liked finding out about new groups and learning about them

it was 2017 in my engineering class and my friend made me listen to gee by snsd because "anyone will love the song" and i did and i listened to it at home and bts was recommended on the side and i heard of them before so i listened to them alot before listening to other kpop groups
BTS
so like i started by watching BTS fanfictions then I searched BTS and then listened to their English songs then probs FIRE was one of their 1st Korean songs i heard
but deffo BTS

Probably because of an Instagram post about a boy group and then Cha Eunwoo entered my life through k-dramas and I became an Astro stan
i got into kdramas like two years ago and saw a drama where the main dude is an idol and that got me thinking about giving kpop finally a chance. i heard about kpop and stuff for years but never wanted to try it out cos i didnt want to be that girl (kinda bitter about that like i actually had like multiples big chances to get into it yearsss ago but my ass didnt want to). i started listening very very casually to just a couple kpop songs at first after giving bts a shot, and trying out a couple songs on some random kpop playlist i found on spotify. stuff really started when i randomly got the thunderous and god's menu mv in my youtube recs and i really liked them. so then i checked out skz entire stuff and went through all of bts stuff too then kinda did that with other idol groups i heard of like monsta x, exo, and stuff if i remember right. that's how it all started

Same here. It was one song that started everything.
I had one friend in high-school who enjoyed the genre, we watched the premier of S.E.S.' video for '('Cause) I'm Your Girl' at his parents place. So thanks to him and S.E.S. I got hooked, then got into G.O.D and Fin.K.L (Fin Killing Liberty) a couple years later.
one song got me loving kpop
2ne1 remixes back in 2013-2016, then Likey by Twice in 2017. Didn't fully get into kpop until the pandemic.
I got into it cause of my sister but then I realized I’ve been listening to it for a really long time now I just didn’t realize it
my older sis showed me Not Today and Blood Sweat and Tears in 2016
earliest kpop songs I remember
but I got INTO IT INTO IT in 2021, with BTS BCS I was in depression and their musid saved me and their message of Love Yourself
now here I am 2 years later
earliest was gangnam style (sorry i was like 7.) but i got into blackpink when they came out and didnt really listen to much else (i listened to exo too but not as much)
i stayed away from the community because of the toxicity so i stayed away from the genre for a while too, but more recently i started to really like kpop because of artists like hyuna
i listened to blackpink/bts in like 2017 then stopped for a while then really started getting into kpop in like 2019/2020
