For me i found Stray Kids because i got recommended the mv for Miroh. I remember really liking the music but i didn't actually start stanning them until around a week later.
For txt I was watching bts award show moments and then I saw Jin talking ab support our younger brothers I forgot what he said then I looked it up and I didn’t Stan I thought they’re were gonna flop and then after crown started standing BUT AFTER 0x1 lovesong I STARTED STANNING WITH ALL MY LIFE. Sorry it’s so long .
my ult group is Twice and I discovered them by watching one of those K-pop covers in public of Likey but, I didn't know what the song was called so I went home, asked my Alexa to shuffle songs by Twice, and I ended up listening to all of their songs and falling in love with their music and the members
i liked red velvet before I stanned them. But I remember being on a train when psycho came out. When i heard that song I knew I had to stan. They gradually became my ults as I went through their discography and variety material.
For le sserafim I was a stan since pre-debut cause of Chaewon. But I really ulted them during Antifragile cause that song slaps so hard.
And not a group, but I discovered IU through her Good Day high note but didn't really stan/ult her until My Sea came out.
I'm an oldie, a prehistoric unnie in KPOP. I discover my ult group back when youtube is still 360p in 2009, I'm in high school at that time. I love anime and I stumbled upon a Japanese song Koewokikasete, never thought a kpop group sang it, and that's when I fell in love with Bigbang. Now, there's a lot of 4th gen group that I don't know.
back when i was still familiarizing myself with kpop, right around january 2017 if i recall, i would watch a lot of youtube videos that were basically song rec compilations that i would watch to find new artists and songs. i saw seventeen's very nice in a few of them, always with the second chorus which has clips of jeonghan. i loooove boys with long hair, so i was intrigued; in addition to liking the song. but i was also intimidated bc of the size of the group (story of every carat). i didn't expect to stan them anyway bc i was a big army at the time, so i caved. little did i expect that they would overthrow bts as my ults just a few months later (may 2017).
this is also almost exactly the same way i started stanning nu'est. the song was overcome, the member was ren; down to the fact that it was the member known for their natural long hair era, but the comeback where they were rocking extensions. talk about having a type.
I do not rember that much but I already stand Blacpink and then I was watching Like How you like that one day and then one of the reccomened videos was Not shy andd thats how I fell in love with itzy
lol uhm so for BTS (a.k.a. the ones who got me into k-pop a.k.a. my ULT) i was a fan of other stuff at the time (time was 2021 & was it Harry potter or Marvel? can't remember) and i see a YT recc. for BTS and i click and i start seeing who they are and rlly start liking their english songs then from there it was a point of no return
for Stray Kids it's funny actually. so i was in a bathroom @ school & had a marker. i wrote on the wall "stan BTS" and left. days later someone writes "stan SKZ" and i search who was SKZ and i find their music & listen and yeah all bcs of a bathroom
it was the day newjeans debut since i subsricbed to hybe on yt i saw there mv and i rember being so shocked bc they came out of nowhere and they hd like 1000-100,100 views
amino was like join the loona amino and i was like loona??? so i joined and found out there was still 4 more members to be revealed so i stuck around for it
I can’t exactly remember of how I found out about kingdom.. but I’ve first discovered them during their debut era which was two years ago but yea I can’t exactly remember if I’ve found out about them on Twitter or something
I literally can't pick one ult or even 2 so I'll talk a about ...3, I think 3 is a good number right?
Monsta X - I was still kinda new to kpop but heard of them before, listened to their Fantasia X album and the first debut I was around in kpop overall was Fatal Love, which to this day is one of my fav albums/eras! Love their sound, from the powerful to the mysterious, dark sounding songs and how funny they are. Even got a friend deep into kpop with the help of Monsta X who has never even thought of getting into it before, and got another friend into Monsta X who didn't like them before (or rather never bothered to listen to them), and now they're Wonhos #1 stan, how the turns have tabled.
Kingdom - I'm pretty sure it was because of the Kingdom show, I was looking it up for the performances and Kingdom just debuted with Excalibur and immediately got me. Loved the band name, the song name (I mean, I have a whole high quality knight costume I went on medieval markets on with...), then the sound and how amazing the music video looked, to this day I cannot believe this was a DEBUT!! Now this is the only band of which I own every album( and all versions) up to date, maan I love their concepts and lore so much. And can't pick a bias, not even remotely, they are all main characters, they're all kings (literally).
E'Last - Just had Tears of Chaos in my recommended when it came out and the thumbnail looked really interesting, so I clicked on it and was blown away. Everything was so beautiful! Seungyeop got me into E'Last through his visuals, then everyone one by one, Choi in through his absolute cuteness, now I wouldn't be able to choose even between two biases. Just such a fun group with great concepts.
And I looove their hairstyles so much, especially the ones with two different colours, they just always look so amazing with them.
