What I did for a while was portion control. I still ate whatever but I only had the recommended serving size. So say there was chicken breast, Mac and cheese, and green beans for example, I would get measuring cups and only fill it to the top of the measuring cup, without it spilling out or over the sides. And as far as meats went, I would try to find the smallest piece from the batch, whether it was chicken breast, pork chops, hamburgers, and if I couldn’t, I would take a piece and cut it in half. I did that for about 2 months and I dropped about 25 pounds, without any exercise but I was also severely obese, so the weight was probably just water weight.

Another thing I did, when I was in high school, I went vegetarian for about 6 months and ate mostly fruits, vegetables, salads and some of those Lean Cuisine meals. I didn’t really exercise either then, except the mandatory walking in high school.

You just gotta find what works best for y

I’d say keep it to three meals a day. Definitely avoid snacking.
For exercising, I recommend Homewalk workouts. They’re usually 30-40 mins. You walk in place and do exercise that are mostly low impact. I’m not sure how many calories or whatever your burn but it’s exercise so gotta help somewhere.
Note*: what you think is fat, could actually be muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat. I’m heavy.... and maybe my weight might be “fat” by some but it’s a lot of muscle not fat. Just make sure you don’t overdo it🙃

Like everyone else said, don’t snack and instead chew sugar free gum of any flavor. It tricks your brain into actually thinking you’re eating

I like eating Smoothie Bowls, especially peanut butter ones

Biking is a really efficient way of exercising, but I’d recommend you find something you enjoy and not something someone else tells you to do

Definitely don’t cut out all desserts and desserts aren’t a bad thing, but frozen mixed berries are delicious and sometimes satisfies me for a healthier alternative

About frozen food and lean cuisine, I’ve tried that before and I find it doesn’t make me full at all, and within an hour, I start to feel hungry. If you can, cooking would be a better option and would leave you full longer. I’ll experiment on that too and see what makes you feel better

One more tip, if you overeat that day by 1000 calories or even 100, besides the fact of cravings, if there is a reason like not eating enough and getting enough good food, I’d rearrange what you’re doing.

Don’t hold it against yourself either for overeating, you can lose it again if you lost it the first time

Make sure you eat at least 3 meals, doctors say even 6 small meals helps, a day and if you have to snack, I would recommend gum or something healthy like carrot sticks, celery sticks, apple slices, or even a handful of nuts. Drink plenty of water and if you like green tea, drink that too. Idk if you’re a soda drinker, but if you are, you can always start cutting out the soda by drinking one less than what you usually drink for one week and keep cutting out each week until you either only have one soda every now and then or none at all. Also, if you get tired of boring old water, you can get those Crystal Light or Mio flavorings and put into your water, one of them, I can’t remember which, has a raspberry lemonade flavor that is really good.

Also like @boo mentioned, sometimes frozen dinners don’t fill you up, so I agree you should try to make your own food if you can. If you have a steamer, you can steam vegetables up and add a little seasoning and it will be delicious.

Exercise, you can pretty much do whatever you are comfortable with, walking, yoga, dancing, squats, jumping rope, jumping jacks, whatever will get you moving. I would change it up though each week or at least every other day, because doing the same thing over and over again is going to get boring and lose it’s lackluster.

I recently did a fitness challenge that I really enjoyed. The challenge was to be active for 21 minutes everyday for 21 days. The workouts were Pilates and may be a little intense if you aren't used to working out, but you could do whatever form of exercise matches your preference and fitness level. What i liked the most about this challenge was that it helped me to commit to consistently working out everyday. Also, 21 minutes is not that long at all and yet I still got satisfying results. I've done other challenges where I had to commit 1 hour everyday and I just didn't enjoy them as much or I dreaded working out for that long. So I would recommend that you commit to being active for a specific length of time each day.

Here is the link to the workout schedule that I did if you are interested in trying it
The challenge introduction:

The challenge calendar: https://www.blogilates.com/ready-to-crush-the-21-day-tone-challenge/

Something else to consider is not sitting for long periods of time on end. Challenge yourself to get up every 20 minutes or so and stretch your legs. This by itself won't help you lose that much weight, but it is better for your body and it has helped me personally to create a thought pattern of being more physically active.

Obviously if you want to lose weight you should cut back on the snacking, but make sure that you have an alternative. For me personally I try to eat healthy meals and eat more at meal time so that I don't get as snacky in between meals. But if I do want a snack I try to choose fruits, veggies, or nuts over chips or chocolate. Also choose a snack that will fill you up. It can be hard to get full on veggies or fruits so try eating a protein like a hard boiled egg or trail mix. Eating healthy doesn't mean that you can't eat delicious food or that you have to starve--it is just making sure to provide your body with the nutrition that it needs and eating in moderation. Another factor to consider is your water intake. Often times I confuse being thirsty with being hungry and I start eating snacks when my body just wants water. A good water goal would be to drink the number of ounces equal to one half your body weight everyday. Decaffeinated tea or flavored water can also count as water intake, but anything with caffeine in it will dehydrate your body and you will need to add to how much you drink to compensate for it.

So to sum it up I would recommend to commit to being active for a certain amount of time every day, to switch out snacks with healthier or more filling alternatives, and to make a goal to drink an adequate amount of water every day.

I agree that the best way to lose weight is to avoid consuming anything unhealthy (carbs, sugar, fried food - however I've seen diets which include fried eggs but I avoid that) and exercise but you need at least one day a week or a month for a cheat day.
As for exercising walking helps a lot and if you're a beginner I suggest finding the right fitness video for you to start and you don't need to make it last for 40 minutes on your first days especially if it's been a while you last worked out. Find a beginners work out and even a workout for your body type people because it includes exercises that are physically possible for you. You can progress in time to other videos. That's what I'm doing aswell. Search on YouTube and you'll find related videos, then you can be a judge of what you want to do.
Also drinking water! apart from it being really good for your skin it helps you feel less hungry. I also avoid eating after 8-8:30 pm and keep it to at least 3 meals a day. If you want to snack in the meantime I suggest like others did anything sugar free like gums...
Good luck, I know you can do it!! 🙏

For me, it’s been about consistency—starting small and building from there. One thing that really helped me was focusing on eating well, nothing too extreme, just real food that fuels me. I’ve been trying to stay active with simple stuff like walking, stretching, or even some bodyweight exercises at home. Don’t stress about doing it all at once.

Also, if you’re considering ways to boost your recovery or get extra help, I’ve had a good experience with steroidscanada.is. They have quality products that supported my muscle recovery when I was lifting heavier. But it’s not about shortcuts—just something to complement your hard work.
