I don't know who else came into KPop like me. Is it usual or was I just weird?

One day, KPop meme posts started showing up in my instagram feed. Rosé hair flip, Chiquita eating, Ian's geal geol. They were cute and easy to get into and this led to more memes and more scrolling. Blackpink, Baemon, Aespa, and others started to become familiar to me. But even though their music was good, it didn't set my heart to flutter.

Then one day I saw something from a group called Hearts2Hearts. And I fell headfirst, heart first. Then came illit, and RESCENE, and more. I had suddenly found KPop that delighted and fulfilled me. Songs that took me far away and others that made me live in the moment. I enjoyed choreo that was creative and powerful.

But most importantly, I found members who I came to feel like I knew but more importantly, that I really, genuinely, liked as people first and idols second. This turned out to be so important. I know the agencies all get their cut, but I felt like I wanted to be part of helping these artists be successful for as long as they wanted to be. In return, they were giving me so much joy not just by their music and videos, but by giving me a look into their lives off the stage through their vlogs.

So now I already have five fan light sticks (illit's is the most beautiful and KIOF's has the most unique light effect), a stack of albums, and a bunch of photo cards. And I've learned to sign up for pre-releases and I swoon after fan meets in the hope that I'll get to go to one some day. I learned to fold a yangmeori and eagerly look forward to the next release and the next slice of life to bring me happiness in this life.

So am I weird?
