I’ve used social media facial recognition before to double-check whether fan-made profiles were actually connected to the projects I was following, and it saved me from engaging with a couple of fake accounts. Could be handy here too if people start making spin-off profiles for these groups and you want to keep things tidy and avoid mix-ups.
