A confident woman, she became vice captain of the Blue Roses
at age 16, only a year after joining the Magic Knights. She once
aspired to be the first Magic Queen, but she can no longer bring
herself to leave her squadmates, as she sees all of them (even
the men that serve as lapdogs and errand boys) as her family.
She is rumored to be from The Diamond Kingdom, but this has
not yet been confirmed. She holds a large, dark purple grimoire
that is thicker than it is wide. Her mana is abundant, and she is
assumed to be a royal of some sort because of it. Her shadow
magic instills fear in the enemy as she shrouds them in a cloak
of darkness, allowing her to easily move around, as the shadows
boosts her agility, before taking them out. She’s nicknamed “the
doll-faced barbarian” for her brutal methods.

Aisha is a strong, cocky woman who proudly boasts
her Silver Eagles badge any chance she gets. She
has an obsession with tall boots that are chunky at
the bottom, as well as piercings, as she has quite
the array. She has the slightest of crushes on the
Black Bulls captain, Yami Sukehiro, but she’s much
too prideful to ever admit it.
Her grimoire is a dark, worn book bound by chains that
require either metal magic or a skull key. Lucky for Aisha,
she has both.

Yiren is a young girl full of hope. Despite being part of
one of the most disgraced Magic Knight squads in
all of the Clover Kingdom, she’s always got a smile
on her face. Her brother, Light, is the only one
who she ever talks to, aside from maybe Noelle,
Finral, or Asta occasionally. She has stated before
that Light would protect her at all times during their
childhood. Of course, many assume this just meant
protecting her from monsters or the occasional bandit,
but what they didn’t know, was she was most often
saved from the person who should have protected
her along with her brother: their mother.

captain of the Crimson Lion Kings, Onda is a perfect
mirror of her father. Her manners are extraordinary,
she is wise beyond her years, and her power even
rivals that of Merleona and Leopold, her aunt and uncle.
She’s proven time and time again to be worthy of
being her father’s next vice captain, though many
worry about her magic not being offensive, which is
often needed for offense rather than defense, but even
this is no big feat for the girl. She holds a Grimoire with
a three-leaf clover, decorated with flowers and even a
small bookmark in the shape of a vine.

As one of the three daughters of Golden Dawn
Captain William Vangeance, Jiwon has quite the
pressure on her shoulders to be as perfect as
her father. Sadly, she has not yet reached that
caliber, and many believe she never will. Her
eldest sister is already believed to take the spot
of Captain when their father steps down, and the
youngest is almost better than the vice captain of
The Golden Dawn in terms of both power and
popularity (though, with his attitude, anyone is
going to rank higher in terms of personality, no?)
She was gifted the ability to transform any object
as she sees fit, and often does so as a form of
support during battles. Her grimoire is nothing to
behold, but she has often been seen transforming
it into many a thing, such as a cat, or even a life-
sized mural of her squadmate and subordinate,
Yuno!



Sihyeon

Sihyeon is a gifted young woman who was
taken into the loving arms of the Silvas at
the ripe age of ten years old. She fit right in
with her silver eyes and powerful water magic,
heck even her mana can rival that of the Wizard
King’s! She is calm and composed, and after the
old captain was a no good, lying piece of scum, she
was more than glad to step up. her water magic is
powerful enough to blow opponents away, and if
you make her mad, you’ll feel the wrath of the seven
seas.​

PRoLoGUE

it started with the clash of magic.

water versus lightning. two elements of a storm collide, and push the magic users back. the woman of lightning scowls, while the woman of the sea simply smirks. she knows she’s winning. if she must fight to the death, then she shall. she will fight for her comrades, for her glory, for her kingdom, till the grim reaper pries her grimoire away with his bony hands, cutting her in two with his sickle. until that fateful day comes, she will fight. and she will never bow down.

“SIHYEON, PLEASE! DON’T!-” a voice pulls her from her thoughts, and she quickly spots the owner of the deep voice to be aisha. ah, aisha. a beautiful woman who enjoyed being a delinquent every now and then. a woman with chain magic. a woman who was holding her back.

she growls, and the sound is bordering on inhuman, on insane, even. the host of this body, sihyeon, is far gone, and it only makes her cackle. she is not sihyeon. she is alvara, and she will carry out the will of licht. she will rid the world of humans, in the name of her master, and in the name of the midnight sun.

“sihyeon is no longer with us, my dear aisha. i’m afraid she has not been for quite some time.” she taunts, and aisha’s grimace only deepens. at that moment, alvara feels thorns pressing into her thighs, and she whips her head towards onda, the only person in the vicinity with such magic. the girl has a determined look on her face, eyebrows furrowed in concentration. alvara can tell it’s taking every ounce of her strength not to strangle her, but that simply won’t do! if you fight, it must be wholeheartedly, you must be prepared to take lives and to die, to stand in front of death and be judged. whether you live or not depends only on your bloodlust, nothing more. that’s what she believed, anyway.

“onda, my dearest. you mustn't fight with humans, for they are nothing more than glorified baboons. would you truly rather fight with those who slaughtered your mother? your lover? who attempted to steal your life?” she saw onda shake her head vigorously, scowl etching deeper into the lines of her face. the girl was no good on offense, and they all knew it was only a matter of time until alvara fought back. and when she did, she would no longer hold back. she would aim to kill. that was what master licht would have wanted, no?

no. a thought surfaces inside her brain, and alvara freezes.

is it…? no, it couldn’t be! she had ensured that the girl was well and knocked out before she took over this body! there is no way she could ever…


i can, and i shall. those are my friends you’re harming, and you shall face the hand of judgement for even thinking of touching them! you will drown in a sea of your regrets, i will ensure as such. i will not rest until you have, alvara eldriss.

alvara clutched her locks, shaking her head with a scream. nobody could address her by her full name! nobody had the right! especially not some disgusting human, one who had barely any mana compared to she! it was unfathomable, impossible, disgusting!


“SHUT UP!” she bellowed, arcing a hand out and summoning a wave forth. it took out jiwon and mia, who were doing their best to guard the townsfolk, puny peasants!


“i will never let you have control, you… you WITCH!” she roared, her eyes turning a shade of icy blue, hair now a dark red. her lips became slimmer, pointier. her doe eyes became slanted, full of suspicion, her complexion went from a warm glow to deathly pale. she had taken sihyeon’s body for her own now, she was in control!


until she wasn’t.


she felt something tearing at her very soul, at her very being. it was the worst kind of pain imaginable, like her existence was at risk of being erased. and for not the first time in her long life, alvara eldriss was scared. she was terrified. for all she blabbered about fighting to the death, about how only the end of her life would stop her from achieving master licht’s goals, she was only one elf. she was a weak young girl at heart, one that feared death as much as she feared thunderstorms and large dogs, one that feared master licht’s inevitable rage when she could not complete her missions. she was a coward.

“n-no… wait… WAIT!” she felt something fall down her face. at first, she had assumed it to be
water from the spell she had cast, but the telltale sting of her eyes said otherwise. she was crying.

“please, i beg you, DON’T!” she sobbed, tugging at her hair in an attempt to ensure that she still existed, that she still had control of this body. she had long since lost hers, and if she lost this one, she would surely disappear for good.
the tugging at her being ensued, even through her wails, her heart-wrenching sobs, her pleas to make it stop. it hurt. it hurt so much. she was so scared. she didn’t want to die, she didn’t she didn’t she didn’t she didn’t she didn’t-

and then she faded.

when she opened her eyes there was only white, and then…


“welcome, alvara.”


licht stood in front of her cowered form, holding a hand, smiling at her. and she grabbed his warm hand, returning his smile. she was safe. her soul was safe. dying wasn’t half bad, if she got to spend it with her master.

and soon, she was led into a clearing akin to the one she’d lived most of her life in. elves surrounded it, welcoming her and smiling, and she felt a pressure building behind her eyes. everyone she’d lost, mother, father, her sister, they were all here. waiting for her. and when she approached them, they embraced her with soft murmurs of “welcome home.”

yes, she was home, finally.



A/N: WOOOOOOOO FIRST CHAPTER HOW R WE FEELING ?!?!?!!?
i nearly sobbed writing this whoops. but if it wasn’t obvious, lemme sum stuff up for u!

alvara eldriss was an elf who served directly under licht in ‘eye of the midnight sun,’ but was killed. her body gone, licht transferred her soul into sihyeon’s body, which was weak at the time (i’ll explain why in a later chapter) in an effort to save her. alvara was dormant for a while, but after the death of licht in this universe, she woke in a rage. she believed those around her to be responsible simply for being human, and attacked. yiren, despite being the weakest of the girls (or at least she was believed to be) attacked first, in an attempt to stop her friend from harming anyone. when aisha noticed she would soon be either hurt or killed by alvara, she restrained her with her magic, and onda did her best to weaken the girl. she felt horrible, of course, as sihyeon was her friend, so she was holding back, and in her rage alvara assumed she was trying to kill her. as she went to harm the girl, sihyeon, who was still semi-conscious despite being fatally wounded, fought back. she pushed alvara’s soul out of her body, and since she didn’t have one to return to, alvara basically died. she was sent to “a better place”, some call it heaven, others call it by other names, but either way she passed on. there, she saw her friends, her family that had been murdered, and licht, who she had been fighting for in the first place. in her last moments, the rage was gone, and in it’s place was who alvara actually was: a girl that was terrified of dying, a girl who was scared of big dogs and thunderstorms and licht when he was mad at her. she panicked, knowing she would die, and pleaded with sihyeon to stop. but sihyeon knew alvara wouldn’t be happy unless she
passed on, so she didn’t, despite feeling guilty about it. and as everyone embraced alvara and welcomed her, she realized that she didn’t have any reason to be afraid, and that this was her true home.

and boom, prologue over! this is really confusing, of course, but all will be explained in due time ~~~~ this is only arc 1 of the story, so be prepared!
